Hello, I want to start dropshipping on Etsy. I've already set up a company and created an Etsy account. Please, what's the correct way to start dropshipping without getting my account closed or violating Etsy's policies?

Etsy doesn’t allow traditional dropshipping, but you can do it safely by using a production partner model.... I have clients who choose to operate Etsy stores, and they privately use dropshipping models. The secret is that they can achieve higher profits. From my supplier's perspective, I would like to tell you not to choose AliExpress or CJ Dropshipping such automated tools.

Because:

1. Sometimes you need to use a virtual address for shipping, so your buyers won't think the products come from a low-cost production area.

2. High-quality images instead of the copied promotional pictures on AliExpress, which better suits the preferences of your target customers.

3. Customized packaging! Never use the original packaging, as it often causes consumers to feel disgusted the moment they open the package.

The safe way is to focus on print on demand or handmade style products, and always ensure your designs are original and you’re clearly involved in the creation process. Avoid reselling mass produced items from suppliers like AliExpress with no added value, and make sure your branding, packaging, and listings feel unique.

The key is to position yourself as a creator/brand, not just a reseller, because Etsy prioritizes handmade and designed goods.

Be careful - Etsy isn’t friendly to classic dropshipping. You can’t just resell random products. It works only if it’s your design + declared production partner (like POD). Most people get banned from selling generic stuff or long shipping times. Keep it transparent and branded
 
I would strictly advise not to do dropshipping. eventually etsy finds it and stores gets banned. not only the store but your ID is also banned. u will not be able to open new seller account from same id.
refrain from dropshipping. those days are now gone. people made good money a couple of years back. but now AI and Etsy are crazy
 
Be careful Etsy isn’t made for typical dropshipping. Biggest mistake is reselling random products.
 
include accurate ship from details, add production-partner, make clear shipping policies.
They won't suspend.

Etsy is quite strict about reselling and dropshipping, so the safest approach is making sure you’re fully aligned with their handmade/vintage/supplies rules. From what I’ve seen, accounts that last usually focus on transparency, original value addition, and avoiding anything that looks like generic resale listings.
 
If you want to dropship on Etsy, it is very important to not use the same images that can be found on your source, or AliExpress, etc. You can use Nano Banana to generate some custom images.

I found Etsy as one of the top plateforms to drop ship. I had the shop closed twice, due to their rules. I did have custom products, sourced from craftsmen in Central America. Wonderful products, but I was not the only shop sourceing from this person on the site. They complained, my shop was shut down, with no recoarse. You have to be the only supplier on this platform selling the product line. If there is another shop, they will shut you down, regardless if your products fit all the rules and guidlines..

My Etsy shop got banned instantly. I was selling hade made quilts from a great suppier. Someelse was also selling the same product line from the same supplier. They complained to Etsy, my store was shut down, thiers was not. They were doing the exact same thing I was, yet, their store still remains to this day. They will shut you down without any investigations at any time.

Etsy Closed it, stating my product line was not custom. Which was untrue, everything was custom made. A competitor complained, they shut me down, simple as that. I am not interested in dealing with that palteform every again. They did not investigate, or contact me. Basically they took the word of a competitor , selling the exact same item from the exact same supplier. My pricing was better and my shiping times were faster, yet shut down. The shop that complained is still selling the product line that I had banned. Would never deal with that plateform ever again.
