Drop in organic traffic last week

Hi All,

Has anyone else experienced fluctuations in organic traffic last week starting 15th Dec? I know the last algorithmic update(Penguin) was on 6th Dec as per SEORoundtable but has google rolled out yet another update after that?
The change in my organic traffic is not significant but still it's about 20% drop. Not sure if this is because of the holiday season or google update. So, wanted to know if anyone else had a similar experience to share?

P.S - My site was not affected by any Penguin algo updates since the first release in Oct 2014 till Dec 6th.

I haven't experienced any. But I think the fluctuations is due to latest roll-out on the 6th December. Most updates occurs unknowingly to us.

You can check for major Google updates here:

algoroo . com

The latest major update was around December 8th, when some sites penalized by Penguin previously recovered most of their rankings now. But around 15 December I didn't notice anything, maybe you got a manual penalty, did you check your Webmaster Tools account?

Penguin 3.0 is affect the low ranking websites, especially the low ranking websites keywords occurs in top 10 search results. it will be behaved by depand on your country.

It's Xmas time. People are on a break.. Search volume is pretty low across the niches these days - it'll bump back up within a month

I think your site might dropped few spots for some keywords or it's because of the holiday season.

whatever happened i like, a few of my keywords had dropped to the 2nd and 3rd page and have now bounced back to the first. Hope it stays this way

Must be because of the holiday season. Most people are away from their devices/gadgets this time of the year and taking a break.
