Drinking/Alcohol, bad surroundings, Gaming how far?

Lately, I have been not active on my business due to Drinking, bad surroundings (so-called bad connection/friends), Gaming, I know it's my problem but I guess lots here relate to these issues. I have lost many things due to these problems, many family issues, financial issues and lots more.

The purpose of the thread is "How you guys overcome these things", I know how to Google and see some shitty money articles but people need real experience and real advice.

PAST: I earned decent money but due to a bad connection, I was exposed to drinking then I was into it.

I'm not a guy like to share my problems on a public forum but every input would be helpful for many people who don't know the seriousness of drinking addiction.

PRESENT: WIth the love of my family I'm out now and in control of that addiction (so-called social drinking, about a time a month).

P.S With the money, you are exposed to lots NEW but be aware of what you are doing. Like @Heiko said if you have money say I'm earning not much just a few cents (really a bit of GREAT advice)

Like @BassTrackerBoats said, don't put all your earnings on one source. I did that before, invested all my savings on the dropshipping store and struggled to go along with that. Don't do that, a piece of friendly advice.

If you HATE something from this thread, sorry to bother you and wasting your TIME but I guess someone will be beneficial from this thread.

I'm in a similar situation with regards to alcohol. Gaming solo, is much better than wasting time and money in clubs.

Take a month or two off business and just relax. As long as you're not drinking, you'll find your groove again.

PS: Your drinking buddies won't understand and may try and derail you if you tell them you're turning over a new leaf. Perhaps it'd be best not to speak to them for a while.

You can still do all those things you just need to do them in moderation. Everything in moderation, even work.

It depends on what you want out of your life to be honest. If you are okay with the way things are and the way your life is going then do not change anything. Since you wrote this thread I assume you want to change your life.

Overcoming problems especially If they are ingrained in your mind to always be there are hard to overcome. You need to hit a "reset" button within yourself and start to take it more serious.

Ask yourself this every time you start a game:What's going to happen if you start playing this game rather than doing the work?

Whats going to happen to my mind and body if I keep drinking alcohol?

Those are things that you have to decide for yourself. Your best thinking got you where you are today.

When you have a social circle that only spreads negativity or bad vibes then you have to get out there as fast as possible. Studies show that you become like the 5 closest people around you (I.e. if your 5 closest people are lazy and drink all the time you will fall back into that circle eventually)

At the end of day you need to decide for yourself what's worth your time, what's good is worth to put in your body and who you choose to hang out with. The key of life is to be happy and that can only be archived if you truly find yourself. With that I mean, the job you want, the girlfriend or wife you want, and the friends you want.

Change your mindset, change your life.

Just choose what you value most and quit other things, specially the ones that hurt your health.

Here is what I've done. It's hardcore but it worth it:
1. I've told my family that I won't drink again so I ask them not to bring this up and not to invite me over a drink or something.
2. I've acknowledged that I need to move out of my area and went to another city and moved out there. I changed completely all my friends. Starting to participate in personal development courses (even if some were low quality) and training just to meet new people.
3. Cut alcohol for good, no social drink no nothing. It's a trap, don't do it. Once our EGO starts to kick in and your brain will tell you, you've made it, you can control this, that's the worst, you are in danger to relapse. Be very aware of these thoughts.
4. Start doing sports, doesn't matter what, just move your ass - I am doing only P90X inhouse for 6-7 years now. Didn't hit the gym at all and still I am in good shape. Go out for a running couple times per week, just do something.
5. Start meditating every day, journaling, and also write down goals every day. You need to know exactly what you have to do from the moment you wake up. If you don't you might get sidetrack and lose control of time/get bored
6. Start being gratefully, accept your mistakes and forgive you. Nobody is perfect and you don't need to give no one explanations for your life and that si that!

If you're not planning to be a professional gamer, and if your young, the issue is gaming / bad friends.

I drink often (couple mixed drinks a night, maybe shots of my favorite alcohol on weekends), but I work while I drink.

Not really. I'm a social media marketer.
Drinking makes you social, and the more social I become online - the more connections I make. And for me (not everyone), drinking pushes the "just fucking do it" side of me. It's better to learn from trial & error, compared to never learning at all.

The key for me, is when I feel it's taking over / I'm becoming too lazy / wanting to drink to much, I'll take some time off (which brings back the "fun" buzz)

What's bad for me, is I have an addictive personality and humans want the easy way out. Gaming, bad Influencers (friends), and alcohol are never a good combo, lol. Those are the perfect ingredients you need to waste time while learning nothing beneficial & moving no farther along than your bad friends who've been going backwards.

Moral of the story: drink responsibly, chill responsibly, replace gaming with learning & networking + real life accomplishments . The perfect comparison for me before I stopped gaming (really young), and I was playing RuneScape. Then it clicked, why am I leveling up a dead end RuneScape account noones buying anymore, when I can level up social media accounts and sell them.

It's all about how you think about things.

Followers (minus) following is my combat level
And rather than earning GP (game points) , I earn USD (us dollars)

In IM, you have to stay on top of your game. It's high stress and different life than working 9-5. Find an active hobby you love (for me, it's surfing). One of my favorite things in this world. One day I'll have to leave my home because we only get waves half of the year, if that.

Replace bad dopamine hits (alcohol, gaming, TV, porn, junk food) with good dopamine hits (working out, advancing in a hobby, accomplishing small goals throughout the day, even making a small dinner for yourself that you're proud of).

It's hard to outweigh pros/cons of each. For my age, partying is part of the age and I love it too, but I think sitting inside and gaming for an hour or two and just chilling sober is the better move if you have to choose one. I usually don't feel like myself the day after drinking or even the next days.

Cut off the hand. In other words, seperate yourself from the things causing you issues. Unplug your Xbox, stop talking to people who are encouraging you to do things you shouldn't be doing, don't have any alcohol in your house, etc.

There's a really well-known internet marketer who I spoke to recently who was addicted to the new Super Smash Bros. game. He binged the game for an entire weekend (his vacation) and when he noticed that he was struggling to get back to work, he threw the Super Smash Bros. game into his pool from his bedroom window. A little dramatic, but it worked.

Just drop the people. Gove yourself a limit on the games.

Exercise and trying to eat healthy if only once in a while always helps. In regards to gaming, at least try to cut out a game or two. Alcohol, find a way to regulate it more, whether it be take a break, only once or twice a month, maybe drink just a few IPAS instead of taking a bunch of shots.

Alex Becker also has good content, Sam is his mentor he just has a different way of saying things. More hyper and in your face, where Sam is way more mellow

But yeah fix your dopamine. Including drinking, social media, smoking tobacco/weed, social media, fast food, watching YouTube videos that make you feel angry

It's super hard and most people usually have 1 bad vice that's super hard to stop. Focus on eliminating the other vices that are easier and finally work on cutting down on your preferred vice

Op just don’t feel bad of your situation . Folks like Charles Bukowski was an alcoholic and get good things outer their life.

Nah, I don't got women issues, women got issues with me besides those were your words so I don't remember

Tbh, I'm not looking at the moment, it's not that hard to get a girl, I had plenty in my life and these days it's even easier. Plenty of guys I know are on tinder every day, fucking everything with a heartbeat but I'm way passed that.

Currently I'm finishing up my agency site which is a shit ton of work, I'm working towards several JV's on BHW, my own products, taking care of my grandfather, working to stay sober and just working hard to make a lifestyle change. I really don't have time for a girl in my life but I really miss a dog though
