Dont give up!

Quick update,

Have averaged just over $11 a day so far. I get most of my views over the weekend so will be interesting to see the results come monday/Tuesday.

CPM has been going up slightly too which is nice, I suppose youtube needs time to work out ads that are a good fit etc.

Its so tempting to just spam the shit out of uploading, but am determined to grow the channel for the long term. My videos are pretty evergreen, titles & descriptions are optimised for search so should hopefully be bringing in views consistently. Although my last couple of vids hit browse and bought in a fair chunk of views (just before ytpp, grrr) so hopefully the next few will hit the algo too.

Any questions, I'm more than happy to share my advice guidance etc. I'm no expert, but I can help with my own experiences etc.

With this and the affiliate marketing, my goal is to make this a feasible income stream, although I won't be giving up my day job just yet. Lol

What type of affiliate you are doing ? Mainstream like Amazon or something else ? What is your target income ?

Not mainstream, just one product. I'm averaging $4-500 with that. If ad revenue on the channel continues to average $10ish a day, I have set myself an initial target of $1000 a month. If/when I consistently hit that, then I shall re-assess. My plans are to up my videos to 2 a week, and hopefuly make them 8mins or longer where i can for those mid roll ads (i dont like stuffing for the sake of it, so only a 1/3 of my videos are longer than this.), and am currently creating a website around my youtube channel which I can hopefully bring in some more revenue with ads & maybe a few more different affiliates.

As far as I understand, you make videos with search-oriented titles related to a specific product. Do you use a tool to find search-oriented titles or do you use the youtube search pane. Can you also tell us how many videos you have in total?

I don't mention product at all in my titles, i just mention it in my videos as it is a natural fit so i just slip it in there. if that makes sense? Currently I have around 20 videos, only 10 of them have the green sign for monetization, the others are yellow.

I don't use any tools, just the youtube search function and checking out what my competition is doing.

Sorry, forgot to add, I don't use any tools, just use the you tube search function and checking out what my competitors are doing.

I think your winning rate for 10 videos is very good I appreciate you

Thanks! If you need any more help just give me a shout
BTW, does it important to have 10m views on shorts to being promoted by youtube?
I don't do shorts, I have tried many times and have failed miserably. I'll only be sticking to long form as if you pick the right niche and make useful informative videos it's far easier (still not easy) to reach 4000 watch hrs than it is to get 10m shorts views. Patience and perciverance is key.

Your right, you've gotta invest one of two things. Time or money, I chose time and so far, it's paid off!

Congratz for achieving the monetization on YT, you are doing a great job, it has potential to grow much more!

So, didn't get a new video uploaded for the weekend, life got in the way a bit. Should have current video edited and uploaded for this evening.

Earnings have been consistent enough, am happy with that.

Affiliate income has dropped a bit for the first half of the month, but still hold out hope for the remainder.

Appealed a few of my limited ads videos, one came back in my favour, but the other 2 were denied, so happy with that.

Any questions or advice, I'm happy to share my (limited) knowledge thus far.

Keep on uploading people!
