Ditto. I guess to a certain extent (especially when I was starting out) I was a jumper... I was just not yet strong enough fundamentally speaking to know all the ins and outs of things.

THe only thing is... I've learned what works... and what doesn't work.. but the difference is. I know what works... FOR ME. Personally.

I think that makes the biggest difference of all.

For the jumpers, don't jump quick... assess and learn before moving on. It's different from being a jumper in my humble opinion.

This is a great article and I totally agree. Jumpers are the reason most people fail to find success with network marketing or MLM programs. They think that they can join and make money the next day without doing any work. Then they get frustrated and find the next "big thing" with a flashy comp plan that makes it sound like a walk in the park.

I actually think it's OK to be a jumper when you are first getting started, so long as you are clear in your mind that this phase is EDUCATION and not PROFESSION. I see nothing wrong with getting a clear lay of the land before building something.

The real issue with jumping is the error of replacing hype with steps that need to be done when the work gets boring. I know for me it is a whole lot more fun to dream about becoming rich (and be told that I will become rich) than figuring out how to upload script, write autoresponder messages for preloading scheduled responses, posting backlinks, keyword research, dealing with people for outsourcing tasks, etc.

That stuff gets boring. I personally like to look at the fancy cars, the dollars floating in the air, the big houses, the dudes with shit-eating grins and the pretty girls.

When you run out of those in one method and get to the boring part, you can always jump to the next method and see more fancy cars, dollars floating in the air, big houses, dudes with shit-eating grins and pretty girls. Then the next, and the next, and the next, and the next, and the next.

Wow!

Then you can go to bed at night knowing you did some awfully fine productive work.

You get excited about an idea that is going to make you mega rich and when you actually have to implement it you quickly realize that the results will not materialize without effort on your part. And that effort can usually be extremely boring and tedious work.

It's a reality check. A crash from excitement to tedium in a very short amount of time.

No wonder it makes people jump to the next "fix" of excitement at the prospect of easy cash. Chasing the dream can be addictive since the rush and excitement of thinking "this is the one that makes me rich!" is very powerful and when the crash comes in the guise of graft and unglamorous hard work that jet setting lifestyle (or even just comfortable lifestyle) seems very far away.

The most damning thing is that I am completley aware of this and yet I'm STILL guilty of it, albeit to a lesser degree.

I also agree that the first couple of months (I'm only in my third) was filled with this type of thing and it was a huge learning experience. I did get a lay of the land and explored many, many different ways of generating money online. Many of those I will never do but it helps with the overall education if you're familiar with them in some fashion.
