Don't autoblogs get penalized by google?

My other website are all manual but I want to play around with a automated blog for learning purposes, fun and just see if I can scrape a couple dollars of it but don't site like that get penalized due to not having original content?

i dont remember it sorry. i used couple nulled plugins and they all were headache (some websites scraped rly bad, or didnt scrape)

Gheghe yeah, I never use any nulled theme or plugin and I can get A LOT
 
My auto-blog doesn't get penalized for "unoriginal content", since there isn't actually a penalty for a site posting another site's stuff.

auto blogs work fine if they are done properly. even if not done properly, you still can have some success lol :)

Who in the world told you this? Read my username.

I run over 200+ automated websites in various niches, Music, Movies, etc which contain little to no content and of those 200 a good portion of them are ranked under 100K alexa and generating me fairly decent automated income.

I've actually found that my manual sites are harder to monetize.

Use some SEO tools on your new sites and don't just abandon them after you automate them, this is the key to running a successful website. In turn you either spend money buying backlinks or you manually find a way to acquire them yourself so you're ultimately still going to be working in some form.
 
or try argo content generator to scrape and create websites/wp blogs automated ;)
 
Might be hard to rank on Google, but I've considered them for the purposes of getting traffic from elsewhere. Perhaps automate some posts to Pinterest and other social media sites to see if it could drum up traffic to the site. Watching the thread to see what others come up with. The 2 main ones I come across are WP Robot and WP Ematico.

I've been leaning towards just doing massive CSV imports and dripping the content using either MainWP or WP All Import, both of which I own lifetime unlimited licenses for. It might be somewhat manual, but if you can scrape good enough CSV files together, then you should be able to load up and drip huge quantities of content relatively easily. The other nice part of this is that you aren't limited to RSS feeds this way. Just some ideas.

@ pinterest this is the first time I've seen this mentioned in a long long long time.

Would posting to pinterest provide the same benefits as posting to facebook?

I'd figure it to be niche dependent. I have some sites that absolutely kill it on pinterest (upwards of 60% of the traffic comes from pinterest), and many that don't. The common thread is that my sites that kill it on pinterest all fall into the primary demographics. Stuff that adult women are interested in. My other properties such as finance just can't get pinterest to work.

So, if you scrape and post pinterest friendly stuff (cute stuff, pretty things, crafts, etc), then I imagine a scraped site could do OK. The hard part is how to manage the images. If you only hotlink the images in your content, then you'll probably be clear legally (some court cases in the US decided that). Obviously, that will vary country to country, and just because there is a precedent in a US court, doesn't mean it'll be upheld if you get taken to court. Just some food for thought.

Another thing to keep in mind, Pinterest traffic generally sucks at monetizing in my experience.

It is difficult to build traction on Google at first, no doubt, but pick good sources, not just a single source either. Don't copy every post of another site, mingle sites together and over time you will build traction on Google.
Pinterest, Twitter, Facebook, g+, WordPress, Tumblr, it is all a good place to syndicate your content out to, plus keeps your brand looking good.
 
I've had some moderate success using dlvr.it to syndicate content from RSS feeds to social networks and I've never had so much social interactions as a result of it (cheap too). It doesn't allow spinning, and the only Web 2 it allows you to post to is Tumblr I believe, so it's use in @Billy_Batts case is too limited.

I do my auto blogging using Google sheets and ifttt. Using some formulas I can generate unique content. Just a more manual process than using a spinner plugin
