Domains dropcatching

I have been researching a lot about this lately. I've even emailed companies and learned some valuable things. I am not looking for .com, .net etc., I have an alternative market in mind. A market with less competition but with value.

Those who have built or used bots which can catch domains through registrars' API, I'd really like to hear some experiences. How many calls per second do you get? I hear it's usually about 1 call per 1 second which is not good, I don't think.

Know of registrars which provide more calls? Any tips?

I've also tried scraping how fast my competition catches the names in a TLD I'm watching closely but no luck. I've also tried asking but no luck. Anyone have any ideas on finding out this info?

I doubt someone is going to share the kind of information you are looking for. Are you talking about registering domains on a big scale?

Yeah, I would understand why people wouldn't want to share but

1) I have already seen people talking about it. I swear I've found a thread on BHW but I can't find it anymore

2) I am not going to be competition. People on here mostly go for SEO names with metrics. If not that, then some .coms, .nets or .orgs. I am interested in none of that. I am going to hunt what no one on here probably hunts.

Plus I already know a lot about this; the only thing left to find out is how effective existing software is and how many calls per second can realistically be achieved.

Best move is to use 7-9 different registrar API´s with the same amount of different software setups, that way you can cover more transactions per second in total. It will increase the chance to get it. Very basic, but you get my point.

Yeah I know. I will go for that for sure I just wanted some experience on what the figures are for that. The main problem is I can't find out how many calls per second my competition gets and I really can't find that out.

If I could, I'd be in a great position.

You guys, so you need to add credit with each and every account you use with the registrars, right? It gets pretty expensive if you do a lot of accounts, right?

Is it secure to have multiple accounts. I thought they cancel other accounts if you have one.

Don't bother with it. Dropcatching is not worth your while unless you are a big fish.

If you want to grab new GTLDs (newGTLD examples: internet.marketing / reality.show / love.one ), you've to know that you compete against chinese guys with high performace drop catching machines.
