Hello, members, I've got a SEO related question, I started hunting expired domains for seo purposes and today I have this situation... I found a domain with backlinks from washingtonpost, laughingsquid and dailykos.
Now this is my dilemma, these websites linked to images on that expired domain. The backlink is there, I checked but the images don't exist anymore on this expired domain. To mention the domain is expired and I can buy for the standard price. Is it worth buying? Thank you

If you search the forum, you'll see that there are guides on how to find great expired domains, but the gist is look at all the backlinks, check out the website on web.archive.org, see if any of the pages are still indexed (unlikely). If you've got the budget for it, then get the domain, host it back up, resurrect the website exactly and then see if posts get indexed or not. If they do, then great, start adding content slowly. If not, then wait, and if still not even after a long time, then use it for churn and burn.

Also check full backlink profile before buying domain.

Basically, the domain was used to dispaly images with maps. That's how it got the backlinks. Then someone else caught it and built a niche website for routers review.
I bought a few domains and used them as 301 until now, what's the best way to use this domain?

So the original site was maps + images, then someone used it for routers (like networking routers or woodworking routers?). I mean, its a risk, do you have anything related which you could use it for?

Yes, pictures of the US map, then someone use it as a niche website for internet modem routers. I don't have anything related to use it for, maybe start a niche blog?

If the backlinks are from low-quality or irrelevant websites, then they may not be as valuable. If there are a lot of broken backlinks on the domain, could actually hurt your SEO.
