Domain sold for $30 Million

Imagine how many backlinks you can buy for $30 million.

I am imagining how the deal went ...

What's your price point ....

30 millions .

Sold.

If I have 30M I'll spend on lots of good stuff and plan to increase it by investing in something I'm an expert at.
but maybe they have lots more money 30M is nothing for them or any good reason to buy it.

Block.one has a valuation of over $2 billion. $30 million is chump change for them.

Have to see this one in correlation. If they got 2 billion it doesn't matter if they spend 30 million on a domain. Just gratz to the seller for making this deal. 30 million for a domain is a decent price.

A valuation of $2 billion is great, but $30 million of $2 billion is 1.5%. 1.5% of the total company valuation was spent on a domain name. Not a full marketing plan, a domain name. And a $2 billion valuation in no way means they have anything close to $30 million in cash at the ready. That was a massive expense on a domain name. They must be hedging very hard on their social app.

it does not make any sense unless they are going to build a new platform which people going to use as google, facebook.

Most people don't care about "transparency" from a social media platform, they just want to be able to share their views without getting banned because those views don't align with SV culture.

And here's an image to compare millions and billions.

Its DR is 47 and RD is 533.

Its amazing that someone values the brand at $30m. Its not exactly like its a household name.

Google also uses Voice as a product name.

Almost all the news channels and forums are discussing about Block.one purchasing Voice.com and this free marketing equals millions of dollars spent by them which would not have happened without purchasing that domain at such high rate.. ;)

This is a huge amount of money although it is not the most expensive one, PrivateJet.com was sold for 30.18 Million$ in 2012 and there is a Domain "LasVegas.com" which has not been sold yet, but will be sold for 90 Million$!!

A few months ago, people were thinking I was crazy for suggesting that you can't just easily pick up a domain for a good brand in that thread about the SEO service launching a search engine. There's a reason that Block One decided on purchasing a $30 million domain and not some random $10 domain from Namecheap.

I'm pretty sure they just made the sum bigger to get additional publicity, that is actually happening right now. :D
