Domain registers who does not steal?

try non-US registrar's who are usually mid-size or small and who do not run domain auctions/marketplace. What happens is, when you just search domain at big registrar and they find it valuable, they'll register and place it in marketplace. So use small companies to search and register domains. I've personally used the following and never found domains searched by me got registered later. They are still available.

Nice one, i use web.z.com. Small and cheap registrar.

Isn't it double the cost offered by Namecheap? NC charges $10 for domain name. It also provides privacy included.

However in other threads I have read that Namecheap is also not a trustworthy, so I am also looking for some option to register / transfer my domains.
 
Thank you all for the suggestions, what I forgot to mention is I need bulk checker, like minimum 50-100 at a time.
I tried to build an app that somehow tells if a domain is registered while trying to connect to it, but didn’t really worked as fast as I needed.
 
TLD- list today now becomes suspicious for me.
A crackling short four letter name available on com and net, org, co and many others, now 10 minutes later whoooom- the com domain is taken.

I have a theory on net domains , when your net site becomes big with good traffic - you lose a lot of traffic going to the com domain, no matter if the com domain is in a different niche. Is that true?

yes, same with .CO domains.
people generally put .COM at the end of brand/site name.
It's same of ccTLDs.
Here in my country, the 2nd largest telcom operator uses .cctld and when ever I want to refill/recharge my prepaid mobile, I put brand.com instead of that .cctld and gets redirect to their global site.

Thank you ! Better I not buy the available net domain. The registered since 2012 com domain is on godaddy auction now has bidding at $14.000 !
They had a spammy splattered full banner store/ mall website with it- then non active since 2016, no website nothing.
I can only loose with the same name as net domain - the net domain will lose traffic to the parked registered com domain.
 
Not use tld list they steal today!
Yesterday I checking some names my last name ist Patzer give it a try is taken long ago ..

Try it with Patzers ( like Reuters) and is not taken!

And guess what??? 20 minutes later it's taken by Annulet LLC ,Date of creation ( whois) is 2008 !

How can that be from a domain search in 2024?

Checked the evaluation in chatgpt, this name ist not well pronounced in english and when type in google ,then more germany search results come up mit USA. So I let it go .......

Have now a catchy name with my first name Marks.( Markus)

For domain check now I use iwantmyname

two, three, four, five letter names and acronyms are taken.

But big companies getting three or five letter names like WEF or Trump, we not, how they do that?

Big help from WEF Lobby organization because they are members?
 
NameSilo as far as I know doesn't do this.

What you're describing is called front running, and this has been going on for quite some time.

Usually, smaller registrars do this, but bigger registrars have also been accused of this.

The worst part of all of this is that most people wouldn't know because registrars would only consider registering a domain if a lot of people actually search for that domain.

They start seeing the pattern, and they get greedy.

They just lock in and nobody is the wiser for it.

It's actually a good move on your part that you are aware that this is happening and trying to guard against it.

And as far as I know, very few registrars will come out and admit it.

But there are some that specifically state that we don't do this kind of thing.
 
Sure, front running by registrars is a concern. For bulk domain checking, try https://www.domaintools.com/bulk-check/. Also, quickly purchase the domain if available and valuable to avoid sniping. Can't really tell how big corps snatch those short domain names, maybe some monster-bucks and networking magic involved
