I am interested in a software for finding expired web 2.0s and wanted to know which one people thought was the best?

@jimbobo2779 tell him why your software is the best dude :)

He won't do that because that would be self promotion but that those that have used both products are more than welcome to pop off and share their experiences.

BTW, I like both of them for different reasons.

I vouch for DHG as that tool can be used to scan from multiple marketplaces, and it also can be used to scan a wide variety of metrics that will be very useful in the vetting process.
However, the additional metric scanning functionality will need you to purchase their credit - but apparently, the owner will grant you a fix amount of credit every month when you renew, and you can use that credit to check the domain metrics respectively.

If you're literally just looking for some solid domains I like Scrapebox for that. DHG gives you that little something extra though, like the built-in spam research tool. Both are more than adequate for finding useful domains. Which is better is going to come down to your own working style and preference.

I prefer Scrapebox.
-It seems faster using the same VPS and same proxies as when using DHG
-There are more configurable options. For example for Web 2.0s you can define your own footprint to go after platforms not listed. There are also a lot more platforms given by default.
-The interface is cleaner. I am using the VPS through a HTML browser (not remote desktop) and I could never get the resolution correct on the host machine and my laptop. DHG always appeared too large with awkward scaling/sizing.
-Scrapebox is a onetime price where DHG is $87 per month for same features. Yes - This includes an API credit for Majestic (and others..) but when I took the same sites and plugged them into my account at majestic.com I would get different reported metrics. I was not able to trust the metrics from DHG.
-There is alot more support and alot more guidance on the proper use of Scrapebox. Scrapebox has been the tried and true tool for a long time.
-It might of been user error (opening too many threads without properly configuring the server) but DHG would crash on me.

If you want expired domains get DHG, if you are doing SEO you surely need sb?

neither are replacements for the other.

I use DHG and it was awsome .it was so good and I got what I wanted . But, I never tried scrape box, so I don't really know what is best

ahh I see, ok so in SB you have the premium expired domain finder plugin. I have it, it is pretty good, however it is very much just a plugin (not to detract from it, it is good and worth the purchase) DHG is the full suite.

What I am saying is, get scrapebox, it is in my opinion an essential tool.

DHG is the tool I use a fair bit when I am building out PBN, so if you can, get both.

yes I'm going to get scrape box . I heard a lot of positive reviews from satisfied customes . so I will definitely get a scrape box license

I'll add my 2p in here - as this is what Ive been looking at today. DHG (domain hunter gatherer) seems good in terms of functionality $27 for a month access - dollar a day - so not bad value I guess.
SB is around $45 for a one off payment. My plan was to use ScrapeBox - scrapebox.com to get the domains etc and then use the link-assistant spyglass tool - http://www.link-assistant.co.uk to do the domain checking, alexa, domain age, penalty risks etc - but SB may do that as well with the plugin - will be checking later.
But to add to the OP question - I have GSA SER which has a domain checking plugin - Anyone used that ? and if so - any good or not
AND on top of that again doesnt DHW have the option to rebuild a site based on the wayback machine data ?

Update - ScrapeBox can rebuild sites like DHG does, I found this out after I found a site that rebuilds sites for you about $4 per site.
So I think scrapebox with expired domain plugin will do it and then use seo spyglass to dig out the details re alexa, penalty risks etc

Just to add to this conversation; there are lots of reasons that Domain Hunter Gatherer Pro is a subscription service.

The majority of the reason is that it includes 50k DomDetailer credits a month that alone are sold for $39. Other reasons include it's ability to do unlimited reverse domain searches without any 3rd party tools or services required ( to do this in any other tool would require a Moz Pro or Majestic account at least). In tests I have found DHG (with the same settings and proxies) to find more domains and pages per page crawled and crawl more pages in the same amount of time whilst still having an abundance of more advanced features.

I do not want to go too far into it as it could be considered self promotion but it is not really fair to compare the two products and say they are the same but one is much cheaper as that is not the case; the extra cost comes with a huge amount of added value in the form of features, money saving services and abilities.

I was going to take out the 1 month option - do what I want and then leave. Certainly dont need permanent access to this type of tool
