For seo purpose .com will be better extension than e.g. .online? I know .com looks better but I am asking only how google see it. Is it rank the same or .com is better?

it been classed as trusted more then others look less spam.

but no exstention is prority over indexing

no .ext has more power then each over

it popualty that trends .com as best ext

advertising and media pump .com in head of branded websites

a .com is suppose to mean company that it abrivation

when mention any website to anyone .com always come to mind

there are no special powers with seo and .ext

For SEO purposes it does not matter at all. It's more about trust and how the brand looks. SEO wise though, go with whatever you want.

if u do country specific tld like .in or.us traffic will be from that coutry only

And how did you come to this amazing conclusion? Enlighten us please!

A lot can be said about domain extension. For the past two years about 99.99% of the page 1 serps are composed of .com, .org and .net results. Of course, new TLDs are being promoted by domain registrars. But fact is fact and whenever I want to register a domain, I manage to stick with the traditional TLDs.

If you try and use something like a buisness card, people will not understand if you dont have a '.com'. For SEO it doesnt matter, but in person, most people expect a '.com' and it is much easier to say "hey, go to "flabbyllamatits" instead of saying "go to flabbyllamatits.online"

I am not associated or promoting flabbyllamatits

Seems to me like a very new bullshit that you just made up, because it's a total absurdity of course.
mind ur language

Why ccTLDs matter
Important in international SEO, ccTLDs are the single strongest way to show search engines and users that site content is specifically targeted to a certain country or region — but, importantly, NOT specifically a certain language. When a site uses a ccTLD, Google assumes that site (and all the content on it) is specifically relevant to the geographic area targeted by the ccTLD and should appear on SERPs in that area.

Yeeeh, try to host some .DE domain in the US, put on English content and see what happens. ;)

I am sure that the traffic will be "from Germany only", as you stated before.

ohh nargil you are such an epicentre of joy and happiness. country-specified domains give very-slight boost. but they do. the guy wanted to say "the small bonus from TLD will affect the SERPs in the country that this TLD is related to" meaning the boosted serps will be only in that country, but you can still get traffic from any country you want. Theres ABSOLUTELY no NEED to be THIS offensive against him.

Yes, a domain with a country-specific extension will no doubt probably rank higher in a search from that country. But that's not what you originally said. You said "traffic will be from that country only." Traffic, not ranking. Of course that's not true. Anyone from anywhere, if they know the domain name, can and will visit a site.

That's absolutely not what he said. Read it 10 times, maybe you'll get it. If he DID wrote what you wrote, I wouldn't react at all.

But yeh, understanding written text is becoming quite a pretty rare skill these days.

And also, I do not see where I was offensive. When I see bullshit, I will call it a bullshit.

@OP : it doesn't matter at all in eyes of google.

@Nargil : Tlds matters a lot in targeting specific country. Of course you don't get traffic from one country exclusively, but you will take a huge boost in the country you are targeting. Specially for keywords related to specific country like e-commerce.

Anyway, it's the strongest metric when targeting specific country. However, you will get traffic from everywhere else unlike @seoes said.

Now, as for hosting, it's very weak metric, it's there but very weak. So, .de domain with English content and US hosting will rank pretty good in Google Germany for English keywords and will face hard time ranking in google US for the same keywords. Unless the competition is really weak and he is the only one covering the Niche.

This is why all top brands use different domains ( although all the costs and the hustle of managing multiple domains ) when they are targetting different countries. Retailmenot is a pretty good example. Although, they are targetting exact same keywords (amazon coupons, kohl's coupons, adidas coupons..etc) they have different tld for every country cuz SEO is the only important element when targetting coupon keywords. And guess who owns Retailmenot... Yup, Google Does :D. So, it's an amazing website to tell the difference between what works and other BS****

That was to prove my point, that you will "get traffic from the TLD country only". :)
