Domain Authority Checker - Semrush or Ahrefs?

Just wanted to know which authority checker is more "accurate". I tested quite a few domains and got very different results.
Most of the times I got a high rating on Ahrefs when the domain just had billions of backlinks but on semrush I didnt.

For example I had a domain with 20k backlinks. I did get a rating of 35 on Ahrefs but just 12 on Semrush.
Another domain had around 34 reffering domains and just 69 backlinks with an Ahrefs score of 21 but 15 on Semrush

It seems like semrush is more likely valueing the quality of the backlinks. Ahrefs prefers probably the quantity, right?

Would be happy if you'd tell me which of them you use, why and if my conclusion was correct.

SEMrush is better because I have seen rare services selling AS increasing service

Semrush is good.

Both value the quality of backlinks, although Semrush takes it into a little more consideration. That is not why you see such a huge difference.

Semrush values traffic as part of site authority where as Ahrefs couldn't care less about the site traffic with DR.

Which one is better in this regard just depends on the data you want to get out of the site.

A good portion of the time Ahrefs is able to crawl more of the links that Semrush, so it may be that Semrush has access to lesser quantity of links hence the lower score.

I'm a big Semrush fan. I know its quite pricey, but its worth every cent if you are serious about SEO

Ahref is my choice

Ahrefs if you want to sell links from your site. It is just too easy to manipulate. But a high DR sells fine.
Semrush if you want to know the real value of your backlinks.
