I’ve been uploading multiple videos around the same niche but different angles. Some channels say focusing on one topic can hurt your reach. Has anyone experienced a drop in views when targeting a single theme repeatedly?

I'm not a YouTuber but what people are telling you seems counterintuitive. I imagine YouTube will appreciate channels that focus on a topic.

No, Youtube doesn’t penalize you for uploading many videos on the same topic - in fact, it can help build authority in your niche. The issue comes if the videos are too similar or repetitive. To stay safe, keep each video unique with fresh angles, titles, and thumbnails so viewers don’t feel like they’re watching the same content over and over. Hope that heps.

That can not be true. Many channels focus on just one niche and have no problems.

I had a niche channel spike after posting 5 similar-topic videos in a row, no drop in reach

No , there is no penalty for this.

Staying in one niche helps growth, but repeating similar content can lower audience retention if you target the same Audience I think.

focusing on one topic is a good strategy as long as you make every video new, like you said a different angle, this is one of the many strategies that even big content creators do, focusing on the one topic that got them very high views in the first place, the only problem of the videos not getting views would be if the viewers some how feel that all your videos have the same points and this can bore them, so yeah as long as you bring it out in new and different ways, you can keep talking about the same topic, youtube isn't going to limit your views for that.

No, as long as the content is high-quality and not repetitive, YouTube rewards niche consistency.

Do not make multiple videos on same topic. Related topics you can cover in different videos. Try to educate the audience about something new, they will also remain attached to the channel because of this.

For example, if your channel is about making money on YouTube, you can break that into many subtopics. But if you keep posting videos on one fixed topic (like creating Gmail accounts), it might hurt your channel since the content becomes repetitive.

Staying in one niche is actually smart YouTube prefers clear signals. If views dip, it’s likely the angle or execution, not the topic. Keep the theme, just refresh how you present it.

YouTube doesn’t punish channels for posting many videos on the same topic. It actually favors niche focus. Drops in views usually come from repetitive content, low retention, or weaker quality.

If you post content on same topic, even the subscribers will get bored .

If your audience trusts you on that topic, they’ll keep coming back. But if you feel your views dropping, maybe experiment with how you introduce new ideas within that theme.
