Just to clarify, my Youtube channel isn't really for making money. I know very well my content is not add friendly so I have monetization switched off for all videos. Besides, I have under 1000 subscribers so I can't monetise anyway.
On my channel I discuss hard topics like Abortion in the Philippines. Women's rights in Poland. Female Genital mutilation in the UK...
I interview sex workers around the world including an American Gigolo and trans escort in the UK. Ultimately I intend to share some of my own stories. I used to be involved in the sex industry and I think I have some very unique stories to tell. So far people really like the content I've shared. People are saying it's getting better and better. More interesting. More professionally done in post production etc. And yet...
Most of my videos hardly get any attention within Youtube itself. I can't help but think that Youtube itself doesn't like that I'm edgy and is therefor making sure that almost nobody finds my content unless they specifically look for my channel.
Could this really be the case and if so, what do I do? I don't want to stop sharing my stories but I would like to build up a real following.
