YouTube is monetized by adsense. So, yes, you would be required to verify before getting paid. I personally think that verification is obsolete and pointless. It was useful back when they used to send physical check. Now, it's absolutely pointless.
You don't need an ID. But you will need to confirm your address and bank account.Thank you much guys.
I'll try not to get my own account banned then, as it would be a pain to fake another ID

That's why when your account is banned you can't open another one unless using some shady methods. Using a family member identity is possible but it comes with many drawbacks
I've read some info about AdSense since I've asked the question, and ID proof + address proof both seem mandatory. It depends on countries but usually they ask for these 2 things.

Maybe it is necessary. I got AdSense approval many years ago. It was not necessary back then.

I feel like it's one big theft and robbery.
They do anything to rip us off.
Their systems are best to not be touched.
They constantly change rules and act like a retarded kid.
I wasted years with them and their moodiness.
Try to see the internet without Google and. YouTube. The difference is big.
Really, keep it for days when you're a whale and can buy monetized accounts.
Starting over and over again is not something we should do in life.
Cut out unnecessary parts of business. Find an optimized path to success.
Outsource what sucks which in this case is verification.

Exactly. That's why you should throw away anything related to AdSense. It's not worth it to become a slave to Google.
You may feel like it's innocent but seriously, imagine 10 years of AdSense.
Then imagine 10 years of true business operations.
With adsense you'll be broke and at step 1 all the time
With correct, independent business operations you'll become wealthy, for generations.
Also think of switching from YouTube to Google search + Ppc. Forget AdSense - letting Google control wallets is pure nightmarish idea.

I know mate but all networks are like this, not only adsense. They all have conditions, criteria, etc and they can ban you for a yes or a no. Adsense is mandatory for youtube so it's tough to avoid it. Sending traffic to CPA or content lockers is an alternative I have to test as well.

YouTube shop in-platform and own products is something, I'd go for. Plus I'd build a private email list.
Adsense can be disabled for plenty of reasons. That's why I wouldn't depend on that.
Content locking is half-dead. I only run it with paid ads. Organically it's too much work.

I don't remember needing an ID, just my address for them to send a paper with a Pin to verify my address.
