My website traffic dropped considerably today. I hope that it is related to the election. Otherwise, it should be an algorithmic penalty.

So, does US election effect website traffic (like holidays)?

Yes, YouTube views are like half what it used to be

I observe similar behavior today. My main website has mostly US traffic and it is like half of what it used to be.

I have a site that is in the midst of a very upward trend, but yesterday it was off considerably as well. I believe a lot of attention was shifted towards the elections.
