Does typosquatting really work?

Hi, is there anyone here can really make money with typosquatting? i bought several domains recently and am parking them, but there're no traffics at all (or just 1 per day..), all the 'original' websites i typosquatted rank within 500 in Alexa.

Are there any special skills required in typosquatting? or did i miss any steps? thanks in advance for any tips or helpful discussion...thanks.

it worked back in early 2000's when it first started but if a company is big enough they can take out your mistyped domain pretty quickly. You are better off chasing the non-dashed domain of someone running the dash. I have a sweet domain which is non dashed and have been holding it hostage for years.

thanks, but taking out my domain is another issue, now i don't even get any traffic from my purchased domains, i wonder if there're any other reasons, e.g. mobile users increase, bookmarks, auto suggestions in browsers etc.
