Does Twitter Marketing work?

Specifically followers...I understand the numbers but is there any quality in the numbers...

Say I have 10,000 followers..then I make a tweet marketing a landing page. Of the 10,000 followers what percentage would click through? What percentage are actual customer potential?

It doesn't seem like the search engine game becasue twitter followers are just passing through unlike search engines where people are actually looking for a product/service.

Any feedback would be appreciated...

That's impossible to say. It depends on how targeted your followers are to your offer.

Twitter seems more like the untargeting bulk email game. Yeah there's an impressive number going out but the results are usually unclimactic.

Seems like if most of the followers have 100's of other followers of there own then when I send a tweet that tweet is drowned out with 100 other tweets that follower gets.

The only way I'm finding Twitter profitable is tweeting specific hash tags repatitively on autopilot. Low maintenance and decent traffic but not really a stand alone marketing campaign.
 
twitter traffic is generally bad. there are so many bots on twitter. and if you decide to build accts with followers then you will never really know how many are real people. thats a big problem. just tweeting is not too effective. doing DM / PM or @replies is probably the best way but i dont suggest getting into twitter. traffic quality is not good
 
I second that, quantity & hashtags are the trick ;)
 
its all about the # with twitter, i also think twitter traffic is bad because about 30% of users are on there phone, so less likely to complete cpa or even buy somthing

There is another hash tag besides # but this website won't let me post it...seems to trigger moderation...

Since I've made some good posts here (and I am definetly a seasoned internet marketer) do any with high repuatation contributers here know how I can be promoted so I can do things like post a link or post the hash tag that moderation didn't allow...

Can anyone guess what the special character hash tag was?
 
Of course its all about the numbers but twitter marketing gets more and more saturated
 
Twitter is not the same as it used to be. Now there are many bots (people who use methods like us) and to get many targeted followers is pretty hard. Anyway, if you reach people who you need then it works and pretty well.
 
Bots are ruling Twitter, lol. Yeah, you can see their impact, but it goes down to zeroing in a niche and finding the real folks that support it. It isn't dead, just got smacked around a bit OP.

i have porn blogs set up with juicyads mobile redirects (among other ads). most of my traffic is from twitter hashtags and it works great. my main account has gotten over 4500 follows & i get a little extra cash from sponsoredtweets as well.
 
it all depends on having a specific plan, twitter works well for me but im not making money yet, im just building a massive and successful following
 
yes it does. depending on the business you would go about differently. i do services for this type of marketing if you are interested let me know.
