Does social media impact SEO?

I build like 500 to each page i want to rank just because its cheap and why not? lol

Social signals do not directly affect the site's rankings. they can, however, give you targeted traffic if you set up your profiles, ads and promotions properly.

I think you're new in SEO. Yeah Social media hepls you to improve you're ranking on search engine but only one condition you have to use the unique content in every post.

I think its important to build social media links/mentions etc to your site just to add diversity to your campaign.
I also believe that Google do take it in to consideration but its probably a very minor factor which is why I would suggest adding social to the mix purely for diversity.

Nofollow is questioned a lot these days. but google still does explore it. There were times i noticed that one decent share on twitter, helped index my new site instantly and showed up on search results (whereas it did not before).

So I would drop the nofollow thinking, at least I have for my stuff, and just create quality content (which is unique).

But lately - it seems re-tweeting same article/post link in twitter is not having the same effect anymore - but this changes, i would still do a small level social media participation (not in a spammy way like those people with 500 twitter accounts tweeting the same exact tweet at the same time).

It can help get users to your website from different areas and therefore help you seo rankings.

Social media is good for direct traffic which can be quite useful.

A normal social media post with a nofollow link has no (or really really little) effect on you rankings. I do think social media with get more and more influence on the rankings starting with shares and traffic.

You seem just like a newb, don't be concerned I'm too,

Yeh it will, you may create a hyperlink in your Facebook at this time which is a link from the high authauth site, do that for each one of the internet sites too

Indirectly, yes. Social media can help you increase direct traffic and brand awareness. If people like what you have to offer, they will spread the word and linking back to your site. This is how social media can help you with SEO.

It gets your name out there, it has your links, your posts, and your profile in search engines, it promotes traffic to your money site, there is no downside.

You get traffic and a bit of SEO (not much, but little by little).
Also helps your BL diversity.

It depends on what you have in mind.

If you're thinking of just putting your content and creating links on Twitter as well as having a presence for your content on Pinterest and Tumblr, the answer is no.

Seriously, it's a flat no.

Social signals, in of themselves, are not going to improve your SEO rankings.

With that said, there is a correlation between how viral your content is or how popular your content is on social media and the backlinks that you get.

Make no mistake about it.

Backlinks is still the name of the game.

Usually, backlinks and social signals tend to track each other.

What I mean by this is the more social signals you get, the higher the likelihood that someone, somehow, someway is linking to your stuff.

So, they are coincidental but they do tend to move in the same direction.

With that said, simply creating all these links on social media platforms are not going to move the needle as far as your search ranking are concerned.

Are the branding and the social traffic helps for ranking - yes.

Are the social signals helps in rankings - it depends how you understand this. If your site is branded with fanpage and this fanpage get stream of likes, comments and posts, than growing of the fanpage will increase site's SERP and this is proven by me. If you create 1000 likes on page with 1000 hits, your site can be banned from google - this definitely affect the SERP lol!

Are the posts from your site get indexed when tweet them/pin them - yes, so they have SEO impact. Twitter is created as microblog by default and when, the site is branded with twitter it have microblog for g00gle, so if the site have not blog already, twitter is the must.

Branding the site with social profiles tells g00gle you are serious business and the social accounts gives instant authority.
