Yes it still works but it got harder than it was years ago. Plus those damn Google Updates are a pain in the ass. I am slowly shifting my focus to PPC rather than SEO. That way i don't have to deal with bullshit from Google..
 
You clearly said, the method has been changed. Now its not easy as its been in 2 - 3 years back. But quality will push you harder to reach higher is SEO.
 
Yeh SEO still works, it's hard as ever, but still works! COmpetition is as high as ever.
 
Yes, definitely SEO will work. But for that, you need to work hard and try to find keywords of low competition with high volume and CPC. You need to be very consistent in order to make your keyword rank higher in all the Search Engine Platforms. So go ahead work hard and you will surely get success.

It works. It is not that easy as it used to be. Have to always come up with new techniques all the time. Yet it works and we use them in daily basis.
