Actually, the backlink from an irrelevant niche also counts by Google, one of the examples like a major authority site. They have backlinks from unrelated niches to their site. Ensure also the backlink is do-follow so it can help to increase your site domain authority.

i can say first hand that getting a link from a page that is relevant but the site is totally irrelevant does make a positive result in ranking position.
so the whole niche thing, is more around the content on the page. I wrote an article about my site, and had it published on a very high da sport site. results are amazing! my site has nothing to do with sports. it is about technology. the article that I wrote was about impact of technology on sports.

This. for example I was seeing a high authority site in a niche having backlinks from a totally different niche and it was a japanese site but it had a DA of 85.

Yes, this is one of the cases, DA 85 is really high. It's considered a backlink from a high-authority site and will boost the domain authority.

No, It's fine, but if you will create relevant backlinks for your website then this is good for your website.
