Does reporting a website for link spam to google do ANYTHING?

I tend to agree with this. He will get what is coming to him sooner or later if he is doing something he is not suppose to be, so why be a part of it?

In my experience, it did work when the amount of "evidence" is mounting, i.e. the site participates in link schemes or other obvious black hat practices.
