I used to clip viral TikToks or Reddit stories and get easy traction. Lately, YouTube flags almost everything. Is this method dead now, or still working with edits?
Does re-uploading trending videos still work in 2025?

You think youtube said "Hey our technology seems to be working there are less copied videos, lets turn it off now!" lol everyday, there are content scammers like you looking for steal peoples hard work cut it up, and expect to get monitised from it, and complain when you don't.

you can still do that by adding transformational value to it and not just simply cutting it out and uploading.

It’s tougher now YouTube’s stricter on reused content. Simple clipping won’t cut it anymore. But if you add real value, unique edits, or original commentary, you can still get traction. It’s all about standing out, not just reposting.

Put on a mask and react to those videos or simply add your commentary or something. Not sure if they'll get the same traction.

The YT AI detects it as duplicate content
They also detect as duplicate content using avatars from pippit or topview
In my case they let me monetize "copy/paste" TikTok videos of transwomen, but they shadowban them to not get more than 100 views (and not counting them as engaged views)

Did you edit the content? Because if you keep downloading and uploading videos like that, it might be considered reused content. You can also build a channel in the direction of making AI videos.

Yeah, it’s way harder now. You need to add commentary or heavy edits or YouTube will flag it fast.

Just copy-pasting won't work anymore. You can make reaction videos and add voiceover to bring it under fair usage policy.

You can build a python script that will reencode the video in order to make it seem unique and fresh. There is a guy here selling a similar tool but it's quite easy to do it with the help of Gemini or grok.
YouTube wont detect your video as copied.
You can also add a feature in the script to make the video looks like it has been recorded with an iphone from a specific location. This one is hard to fake but doable if you use the right tools..
