Does penguin effect is visible if Google still showing old cache date

Hello,

I have a few sites where google cache date old and it's strange that google is not updating (23rd September), wondering if the new penguin update already has any effect the sites, but in my opinion I need to wait for latest cache to see that.

Sites was not effected by penguin in the past, but with my experience to see the effect of algo updates I need to have sites cached after the update date to see the result.

Any ideas folks?

Some of my site boosted to 1st and 2nd page from 8th -10th pages in first week of October so I guess it is active...
Just check when the bot crawled last time on your website...

Penguin work on sites linking to you. Not on your site; so you have to actually check the cache of those sites linking to you to see if it was updated.

Thanks for your input TayaX, yes I know that and agree, the thing is that google stopped updating cache date of those two sites and it's strange and alarms are sounding in my head. Also from my experience I see that rankings of particular site improve or go down after updates only then the cache date of site in question is fresher than update full rollout date, I believe that it's just the way things work.

They are crawled everday as these are large sites but cache date stopped updating. What cache date you see on your sites?
