does organic traffic drop effects referral traffic too

Hi Mates,

My question is if there is a drop in organic traffic then this can affect referral traffic too please suggest

and what could be the reason for that

The Organic traffic is based on search engine rankings and referral traffic is based on the quality of promoters both work separately.So no I don't think so, unless the promoters are trying rank the website as well

The organic results for the referring site may have taken a hit. If you are all in the same niche it is possible an algo update has impacted. It's also possible search volumes have just dropped off for whatever reason, seasonal etc.

yes in few cases, such as some problems with all the niche, but this depends on what referral sites!
the 1st idea got in my mind is that you may got some issues in your website, so carefully check your website as it may got new internal errors in some pages!
