Hey all, I'm just putting together my content plan.

I would like your feedback on whether you think longform content performs better in the search engines?

See : https://www.sweor.com/seocontentlen...fits of Long, search queries by content length.
It shows you more about the SEO benefits of Long Form Content .

The most important reason to create long-form content is to give readers something they're looking for. It's always in a content creator's best interest to develop content that allows readers to see your content as part of the solution to their problems

See : https://contentmarketinginstitute.com/2020/04/long-form-content/
It shows you When you should (and shouldn’t) create Long-Form Content .

Hope this Helps !

For the kw "content marketing" the first result is about 650 words so I'd say authority and matching the user intent is more important than length.

Yes, though, I believe making the content too long (2500+ words) might increase bounce rate considering most people might not be interested to read that long content.

1200-1700 words seem to be the ideal length for long-form content. That's just me though, I prefer to write for visitors instead of Google.

But yes, for obvious reaons, long-form content ranks high in Google.

Hey thanks for this. I find longform performs better but domain authority plays a big part too.

Those pesky domain authority websites can rank with 20 words!

I know with all the Google updates lately, things can change.

You never know, the big G might despise longform content next month.....you never know!

you see this is interesting isn't it.

Domain authority just kicks everyone's ass.

yeah I'm with you on this one.

Yes, long-form content has a greater probability of earning quality backlinks, it helps to improve the rank in search engines

In my experience, unfortunately (since not every text needs to be long) longer content still usually outperforms shorter content.

No, Not always.

"If context could be explained in some words, Then why to go for that many"

Relevancy of the content and matching the user intent is important.

And further, It depends upon niche to niche. But now in most of the niches people already have spammed with long and lengthy content.
