I agree, .info will rank. If however, there's lots of competition, then having equal work done content and seo-wise, as well as the same domain name, .com, .org and .net will outrank you. But usually they are already taken and you can still get your hands on an .info, which is much better than nothing. It's also good checking the domain history - whether it's been banned/delisted recently.

yes is indexed by google. may be you have to give more time to it. if the keywords are very competitive then it may take a lot of time. so may be that is the case. no problem as such with the info domain.
