Does Google Spy on us ?

i have noticed something this period , i noticed that when i visit any site like food site , health site , the adsense ads on the site show me SEO & IM services
although i am in food site , how does google know what i am interested in ?
Do they use google chrome to spy on us or what ?

I believe Google does quite a few different things to make sure there ads are relevant.
Do you use chrome,gmail,have a google search bar in your browser? Not positive but pretty sure they can keep an eye on things thru these and many others.
 
No, Google does not spy on you.

Google doesn't care what you do. No one cares what you do. You're not that important.

No i think i am important for google as that i am the person who will make them earn from clicking on the ads :cool:

Google chrome, google toolbar and cookies.

They not spy you, they only track all your moves and in the future will read your mind :P

Not sure.

But I think if you use their DNS, they can track even easier.

they definatley collect your search history even if your not logged into your account!!

I also delete all cookies and all my history from the chrome but they still know everything about me. One time they even put on my homepage (Google lol) message: Welcome back Blackhatter!

Also all adsense ads are about hosting, VPS and SEO...I also think, they tracking my location everywhere, because when I sit to another computer in different City, I haved there another VPS and SEO ads!

I have the feeling that someone watching me all the day
 
op - this is called retargeting - it is a cookie based pool sharing concept - you can read about this on com.com or any internet marketing professional ezine - it is not google.
for example, if you are interested in booking a hotel and stay on hilton's site for a while - and do not checkout - you will notice ads for hilton all across the internet
 
Google uses DoubleClick Cookies which stores in our PC to get the better relevant results and if you use Google chrome then Google Track alot more things than any other browser.

I hate the Cookie Monster, Google created him to spy on us all.
 
No Google doesn't watch us. They watch you...Just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean someone isn't out to get you.

What you are describing is also a setting in the adsense system for the sites you visit. I can set my adsense ads to reflect only the information on my site, or use google's smart targeting which displays ads according to my content, as well as ads based on the surfing history of my visitor.

In most of my sites, using smart targeting gets me more clicks.

This is also why you get some oddball clicks in adsense for words not on your page.

On a more serious note I think it's hilarious that a bunch of marketers don't understand the concept of contextual and personalized advertising. I would expect a bunch of paranoid nutters who are due an increase in their dosage to spout this kind of stuff, but come on, folks. You are suppose to be the cream of the marketing industry and you're acting like software engineers who don't know how to print a line of text. :-/
