Does Google Hates .info domains?

I had mixed results with .info, my number one ranks #2 it is an old domain but I bought it a couple of months ago, other new .info got banned or they are not indexed as fast as the others. Google crawls them but it doesn't ad the pages in the results immediately even if they have backlinks

Make sure your domain isn't blacklisted. I had to write them to get it back on the search engines. What bugs me is that because Google banned it, it was gone from ALL search engines, guess they're just leeches

How do you know if your .info is blacklisted? Mine shows up on Google but only when I type in the url straight into the search. Anybody know if it's a good idea to use Google Webmaster Tools and make a Sitemap?

I think MicheganManiac is correct.

Google probably did hit .info sites with a temporary hit when they start and all the IMers freaked and the rumors that google hates .info sites spread.
Google wouldn't have a long term hatred for .info sites. Its business model is to get searchers to content and information they want. They wouldn't have a blanket forumula of "if site = .info then -100 SERP rating". They are way more complex than that.

Why don't we see many .info sites ranking above .coms?
How many legit .info sites on our keywords can there be? .coms have been around for years they have a big headstart in terms of age and quality of links. Us IMers tend to need instant gratification. A day or two after a site goes up we go to town on trying to figure out the SERP ranking.

I just read the OPs link and the discussion is about what I expected.
There are two types of people there talking about this
1: "I heard from this other blog or this other person that google hates .info sites"
2: "I personally have .info sites that are doing good and ranking well."

I would trust #2 on pretty much any topic related to SEO. There are too many rumors going around passed on over and over again. Test it out and see if it does work or not.

Agreed, everytime I see a good deal on .infos a buy a bunch - I see no difference between my .infos and my .coms.

People who say different are what I like to call parrots - they read all day and just repeat whatever some other misinformed person has said; once there's enough of these people saying the same thing it some how becomes accepted as fact when it is false.

lol. i'm practic and my infos had been sandboxed forever

I haven't seen much difference between my COMs and INFOs with Google. I have had each rank after a few weeks.

How about .cc domain ? I am talking about .cc and not co.cc , .cc is a TLD

What about .net? There can't be much difference between that and .com.
