Yes, Facebook can shadow ban or checkpoint you if it detects logins from different countries out of the blue. Even more so if they are “suspicious” actions soon after (posting, changing something, etc.).
If your friend from the US is going to use the account, the ideal is for him to use an Indonesian proxy, so that it appears that he is in the same place as you. Or both of you use the same fixed IP/proxy.
And yes, it is best to warm up on both devices: log in, scroll, like some things, watch stories… and only after a few days start to do more aggressive actions.
Avoid switching between countries too quickly. This draws attention right away.
