If I wanted to start some sort of advice/review site, how much does the domain name affect whether people will click thru affiliates.

For example: the site smartuncle.com Would people take that site seriously and click through reviews? Thank you in advance.

That domain doesn't seem too bad.

I suspect that the only way a domain can negatively impact CTR is if the domain is really obnoxious or really long.

Yep. Domain name has big influence on the CTR and also on the amount of links you get.

Stupid domain names will receive fewer links, people get embarrassed to link to bad names. So keep those 2 signals in mind: backlinks and CTR.

Yep, you need to pay attention to domain name. It has difference, coz people want to find trustful resourses.

Blogger for almost 5 years here. Domain name plays a small role. Unless it's something completely retarded and random, it won't play a huge role.

For specific niches however, it can be good. AKA "BathmateReviews.com" would be good for bathmate reviews.
