hello everyone.

i made the experience that sometimes when i spamed on my own website some nofollow backlinks it helped me ranked and after some time i dropped from position 10 to position 35.

i didnt have the feeling that those bad backlinks really hurt me.

so is it better to just leave the bad backlinks or disavow them?
i have the feeling, that if i disavow all those bad backlinks it will maybe even hurt my rankings instead of improving..

If they're not too many, leave them and just build better links. Also, it seems the links were no follow links. Hardly do those positively or negatively affect ranking.

No follow links definitely passes ceryain signal but it doesn't pass link juice/authority or page rank.

I don't think So

Many of my Sites got attacked When I Used to Rank for CPA Keywords

I used to Diswaov on Regulsr Basis But no positive Effect

My experience!!

Disavowing never worked for me

Maybe it's a way Google keep track record of "unwanted" links senders

In any case, I read that having a varied linking authority profile (with also low links) it's essential for a business or for a site

So unless those sites are selling drugs or only about Russian porn, I would keep them.

Well, unless they are too many and outnumbering the others

Just concentrate again for quality link building, you will get good result quickly

Same for me. Disavow don’t work. You can disavow and, then, do a 301 redirect to a new clear domain. This won’t pass the backlinks

I disavow links once and it hurt my site more than it helped. I think you should leave them alone and build more quality links.

Yeah, disavowing back links will help the website to reach better results as far links are still there you can't expect better results or traffic drops.

Using low-quality or spammy backlinks, even if they’re marked as nofollow, can sometimes give a temporary boost but often leads to drops in ranking, as you experienced. Google generally ignores nofollow links in terms of authority, but too many poor-quality links can still raise a red flag. To be safe, it’s usually better to disavow low-quality backlinks, especially if you notice negative ranking effects. Disavowing won’t harm your rankings; it simply tells Google to ignore those links. This can help keep your website’s backlink profile clean and might prevent future drops.

It still helps to see the positive effect. Disavowing the backlinks won't show immediate results. You need to be patient and sometimes you need to submit the disavow request multiple times in the search console to see the effect.

If those nofollow links are genuinely spammy, they shouldn't hurt you, but if there's a ton of low-quality dofolow links, it might be worth disavowing to clean up your profile

According to me Building Quality links is More Important than Disavowing
