Does daily blogging give any benefit for internal linking?

Writing great content isn't a quick process for me. I might get 2 or 3 good posts a month, sometimes nothing good for 2 months straight. I want to try find a way to be more active when I cant think of any interesting topics to write about.

Say I run a business where I give piano lessons over the internet. I have an online portal and do video lessons etc. I want my site to show up when someone is looking for piano lessons. I know external links are key, but i want to focus on internal links for this example.

I might write a post like "10 most difficult songs on the piano" or "Tips to get better at piano". These might end up ranking well on Google and I could get 100s of backlinks from high DA websites to those specific posts. It would make sense for me to include a link in the body of these posts with some relevant anchor text/title that will pass juice to my "Learn to play Piano Online" page. These are the "good" posts that can take time and be difficult to come up with after you have gotten through the obvious ones.

Is there any benefit to starting some daily blogging, sort of like a journal. The goal wouldn't be for those specific pages to rank for anything in search engines, but rather as a way to give a relevant internal link back to my "Learn to Play Piano Online" page. So for example "Went to see {insert band name here} last night". I then just talk about it and might slip in "I would love to know where he learned to play piano". And this would link to my learn to play page.

The internal link here would be relevant to the content on the page and would be natural, but the page wouldn't be something that would rank in google. It would be good for people who already visit the site but thats it. Is there any SEO benefit to this behavior? If the page doesn't rank for any useful keywords in google, will there be any juice to pass to the pages that it links to?

Well, If I were you, I'd create 2-3 killer posts targeting med and high-volume keywords and a bunch of smaller post targeting low-volume keywords. Interlink all of them as much as you can and add a link to your money page from each post. In this way, you will be able to rank all your posts and drive traffic/link juice to your money page. The key thing is to conduct decent keyword research.

So it wouldn't be worth doing this if the daily blog posts weren't targeting any keywords? "So I bought a new car" can probably be twisted to match a keyword but it is unlikely it will be worth reading. If it's gonna be a diary style post that's worth reading it probably won't have great value for search engines.

I guess you have to decide whether you want to create a diary style blog or a blog which will rank high on search engines. The first option is ok if you already have people interested in your life, you can promote it using socials and other marketing channels, but it will be quite difficult to do it with SEO. The thing is that posts like 'I bought a new car' might be interesting, but have little to no value.

This is what I was wondering. So an internal link from a post like "I bought a new car" passes no seo value on it's own? It needs to be ranking and have backlinks of it's own before it can pass juice onto it's internal links?

I wasn't sure whether posts have 'default' juice that can be passed even if they have no backlinks

Internal linking works only where the posts are relevant . Linking two different articles would be no good to you. Google looks for what best for readers. So be the reader yourself and consider what would you love to read? This would give better perspective on blog contents and linking.
