I don't think it is that important but you should always have a good CTR to get a good ROI, but i have not seen any evidence that CTR is a major ranking signal.

Yes ctr is important it tells google about users intent it does plays a small role

A few people think the impact of CTR on rankings is simply a determined legend. To put it plainly, the key point is this If a page is positioning in position 3, yet gets a higher than anticipated CTR, Google may choose to rank that page higher on the grounds that huge amounts of individuals are clearly keen on that outcome

CTR on your listing in the SERPs, isn't used by Google as a direct ranking factor. But, on the other hand, it might cause your rankings to rise for indirect reasons

CTR is a ranking factor. And Dwell time too.
But not Bounce Rate. You can test it, it's not rocket science. There are scripts and plugins (for WP) to control Bounce Rate and Dwell time.

I've encountered few websites on page one using some kind of java script making it impossible to return back to google from the articles. The article didnt even answer the phrase i was searching for.
This must be pretty blackhat and i would guess g00gle will penalize you. They are on page one tho, i guess it works.

In some tough niches you are forced to control dwell time since the competition can exploit that.
