Does Copied content give authority?

    I found copied content in one link: www(dot)nelive.in/north-east/health/quick-morning-workout-office-goers, that in giving out link to original content.. Do this pass any authority or SEO benefits to original page. I has seen this kind of things in multiple sites. So, please explain.

    Google give most importance to the one which is published first

    no it doesn't, most website that copy content rely on social media traffic not google search engine

    i have seen it some times that a copied outranked the original.
    so i think the most here are not right when saying different.
