does buying video views on facebook work?

Say I were to post a video of a music video from YouTube. If I were to buy say 10k likes, 2k comments and 1million video views for facebook with this get the video in the trending section of facebook and draw in real traffic? or Does facebook not work like that?

I don't know about the trending section, but it's probably gonna make the video much more popular. Any people that see it, seeing it have so many views and comments and likes are much more likely to check it out and interact with it.

Facebook and Instagram ranking is really random and you will never know what are the factors for ranking the video. The reason for this is Facebook gives priority to the engagement from your own friends rather than to the random people using Facebook as a search engine. The better method would be to directly sponsor your post using Facebook ads because I believe buying millions of views, likes and comments will be just as expensive as buying ads from Facebook since you are not targeting a specific set of audience.

If I were you, I would approach with YouTube advertising directly and would pay famous bloggers/Facebook pages/twitter users in the same niche. It will give you targeted users for sure and it's also perfectly legal.

This is implication that it is illegal, but this does not seem to be the case? Unless referring to advertising rules you are, but strictly enforced on Facebook I doubt these are.

My friend, no one can tell you what success will look like on this project. I am advising that you do a test of smaller caliber to determine if it is worth pursuing larger amounts of assistance.

I can't tell whether it would rank your video on Facebook, but the views will definetly draw curiosity. You'd get many people wanting to watch because of the huge numbers of views on the video. You can also combine Facebook advertising with the bought views, that would help it gain more views at a cheaper rate through the advert. Go for it.
