Does building backlinks for a domain without a site increase value?

Got a domain I want to flip. Valued at 20k. If I spend a few hundred dollar on back links and social bookmarks when it doesn't have any yet....would that increase value at all?

20K?

No website... just a domain name?

Ok.

well you must be pretty lucky to get a domain name valued for 20k. :) I don't think creating only backlinks will change it's value much, better create a website and get some traffic(purchased or organic) on it. Show the traffic reports to the buyers and you may get more than 20k.:)

Um yeah evaluation of 20k based on some website script? Sure plug in amazon.com , ebay etc and see what comes up lol. Reg fee at best im sure.

Estibot.com Why are some acting like 20k is unrealistic? I also have a domain (major actors name .com) valued at 139k too. Don't know what to use it for though or if someone would buy a major actors name. Only thing I can think of is Fanpage.

What about for the website I was currently talking about, just making a page and a nice logo, and then currently under construction.

Its a sport site, also was thinking of making a FB and Twitter account and buying some followers to sell with it as a package.

Forget going to a valuation site.

Value is what someone is prepared to pay.

If you feel you are genuinely adding value then you will make money. If not you are betting you sell it to some schmuck who has no idea.

it wont help, better spend on working on the site, build a reputation then try flipping.

don't know from where you got $20k domain evaluation though.

I got it from Estibot. Not saying it's 100% correct.
