Does BHW share my email with it's customers?

I just received a promotional email from one of the junior members and it doesn't look like it was sent from BHW official email.
So, is my email address used on this account now shared with 3rd parties?

There's other ways they could've gotten hold of your email as well as every other user's. The management probably had nothing to do with it.
 
Have you bought anything from the marketplace? Some sellers (may) share/sell customer's contact info.
 
Market place members using for their promotion.
 
BHW is based in the UK so not sure they're allowed to.
 
i think you must rememmber if you have been the customer of one seller in here or maybe it ould be phising email watch out
 
Got many emails like that--from here, and from all kinds of other platforms.
Daily I get about 100 spam emails, just on accounts I check regularly, not counting mails that end in spam. About third is related to SEO/webdesign.
I mass select and delete, it's ten-twenty seconds operation on a mobile app.

There are many regulations both on websites and in the EU law, but in my experience they changed nothing about spamming.
It's true that in the past I ordered quite a lot services from here, but I do not remember giving anyone right to send me promotional emails. Yet they keep coming :)

Oh sorry, thought the thread was from today & afterwards when clicking on his profile I saw he's looking at the thread now, hence I didn't double-check my post / the time stamps in the thread ;)
 
I've mentioned this a few times in the past. Have caught members trading customer email lists back and forth. There are several large sellers here who share a massive customer email list as well. I confronted @sarkark21 about this back at the end of 2017, as I received non-BHW spam from him regarding a service. I posted on his thread about it and the post was removed as I hadn't purchased the service, but I was PM'ed beforehand asking to remove.

I asked him:

"If you could, can you please find out who sold my email to you? Thank you."

His response:

"I have purchased list from Few providers. I will try to find out the one who sell your Email Id as well."

After being ignored for a while, the final response on the matter was:

"I have merged multiple list in 1 list so not able to identify but I am removed it from my list."

Just assume that your information is not safe. Use the + trick if you have a Gmail ([email protected]). Have a separate email for BHW service purchases. Track every spam message you get. I'm in the midst of untangling a massive network of contact data sharing, blatantly fake reviews, fake screenshots, post count inflation and more. While this is the strongest marketplace for IM services, don't forget the name of the website.

This being said, everything I've seen and experienced from BHW themselves regarding email marketing has been nothing but above board and by the book.
 
It's probably someone you have bought from, or that seller has sold your email address. The email I am using for buying services is getting spammed on a daily basis. One seller even contacted me on my Paypal address (I didn't know he could see it), which is my private address.

I have a new website that isn't ranking for anything and has no links pointing to it. I ordered a link service from here, two days later I started getting spam emails through my contact form on that website. It's safe to say I regret ordering those links now, as I believe that the quality will be low if this is what he's doing.

Back to topic: I have received emails from BHW sellers that I have never done business with. So I think they are networking between each other and sharing peoples information.

P.S This is by no means an attack on the forum, I will continue to use the marketplace. Content writers are fine, but I have a hard time finding link sellers that are worth the time and dime. My two "favourites" ended up being not so good. 1 year after purchase 100% of the links are dead..
 
His threads are full of very suspicious comments from profiles that only ever comment on his threads but nothing ever get done about it

If you think that this sites' providers are the only ones that network then you are much greener behind the ears than one would expect from a Jr Exec. Don't blame the forum or the name of the forum as I know first hand some other forums where the marketers do similar.

But to address the OP - No, BHW does not share the contact info of their members as that is an asset and no proper business man would give out that asset.

Also, any of you that do not change your contact info in your account here, or anywhere else, are nuts.

Protect your privacy, use 2FA here and anywhere else you go online if it is offered, change your email address and passwords on a regular basis to keep safe.

Wouldn't be useful a sticky header in the marketplace with " DON'T USE YOUR PERSONAL EMAIL, USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK"? i mean when you used for the first time with the wrong(?) seller you are done. Most of the buyer will always pay with paypal and will use their single/main account
