Ok so there are tons of people selling backlinks, fair enough to an extent these backlinks do help and can give new sites a good boost.
But based on what i've experienced you reach this tip of the iceberg, and buying the same packages again won't really help you much. It seems like you come to the point where you would need completely different backlinks and other factors to help you further.

Back when i started my site around 2-3 years ago i was able to reach around 100k+ monthly users from google search, and this was obtained fairly easily and was able to rank high for a keyword that was ranked very difficult. And a huge thanks to that was the backlinks i bought from different sources.

But ever since then i have been in the same traffic bracket of 130k ish monthly users from google. I even spend much more money on backlinks now than i did before, but the improvement my site sees is very little. (Ranking in top 5 and higher already for most keywords worth any traffic)

Which makes me conclude that buying the same backlinks being sold on different sites does come to a point where they aren't really that helpful anymore.
Sure the more backlinks your site has the less effective more backlinks would be.

Getting 200 backlinks for a site that had 0 backlinks would usually be a huge boost.
While getting 200 backlinks for a site that has 4000 backlinks might be a very little boost.

So backlinks and ranking gets more and more difficult the further up you climb, and you reach a point where the investment needs to be increased substantially for it to make much difference.

Anyone else experience the same?

I guess you talk about purchasing the backlinks which are available everywhere. Yeah, it makes a point.
Try to get the backlinks you can't get so easy..

Yes pretty much, backlinks that you usually buy from places like blackhatworld, fiverr etc.

It depends on what you have in mind as "a boost"
Obviously for a company that already earns like $1M a year, earning some extra $100K is only a 10% increase, compared to a newly created company that is earning $50K and now earns $100, is a 200% increase, despite it is half the earnings with the former.

If you throw those 200 backlinks to new recently opened subniche it could be a bigger boost than even the former.
In fact, this is a new trend: megasites purchasing other slightly smaller sites to integrate under their main domain power based on this premise.

The boost i was referring to was in terms of traffic and rankings.
Interesting, i haven't seen too much of that trend. But funny enough i had the same thoughts on why people didn't do that more often considering google automatically ranks pages so much higher just cause you have a domain with tons of links.

I don't really understand what you want to achieve here... you already rank within top 5 for most of the keywords (OK, you might want to optimise your meta data to improve your CTR).
So, from my point of view, you need to add more content to rank for new keywords.

Backlinks are the most important ranking factor.
There are tons of shitty sites ranking high due strong backlink profiles.

There are backlinks then there are crappy backlinks, so yes backlinks help but you need to go for quality not the cheapest garbage out there.

Backlinks help but you need quality ones not 100 backlinks for 5$ from fiverr

Site can be ranked with good quality backlinks.

yes backlinks does help, google gives importance to only high quality DF Backlinks! don't go for cheap backlinks.

The type of website i am running is in a very specific niche relating to one specific thing.
It isn't like a blog or anything, more like a directory, and a directory for one specific platform.
So the amount of new keywords i can target are very limited, i have optimized my meta and such.
My ctr is around 3.7%, i honestly have no clue if this is considered good or bad for a site with like 130k visits a month.

Backlinks are a valuable asset to your SEO and can help improve your website's ranking in search engine results pages (SERPs).

I have bought so much backlinks from different people that i am never able to 100% pinpoint where the best results were.
But i spend tens of hours going through different sellers, asking to see sample reports etc. Only buy from people that have great reviews from people that has actually ranked from their service. And always ask for samples, look if the links are good, as well as the content in the links.
