Is building backlink to your YouTube video still very relevant for ranking?

Not that much actually.

If you want to rank inside YouTube, backlinks are not necessary. if you want to rank your video in Google, quality backlinks are still useful, in my opinion.

You're exactly right.

Matters, you you link your video in some high authority site with good devarsity link, its might be appear on google search, but not on the youtube until you send some quality views

A good, long description containing the keywords + lot´s of matching tags is the most important.
And don´t forget to create playlists, Youtube likes that.

Adding lots of relevant keywords help ranking in Youtube. Your video will appear in recommendations based on user's history. The backlinks help in ranking the videos in Google search but won't help much in Youtube. Views + Likes + Subscribers + Social signals = Authority. Youtube prefers high authority videos to reduce spam.

Youtube practically works like Google. Authority is the key to high rankings.

Therefore, make sure that you;
  • Upload watch-worthy content
  • Give the source file (.mp4, .avi, whatever...) an optimized title (no joke, this helps quite a bit)
  • Optimize your video title on Youtube
  • Optimize the description of the video
  • Place relevant links (to your channel, or related video's) in the bottom of the description
  • Create a catchy thumbnail
When you've done all that, do the following;
  • First of all; buy social signals
  • Then buy Youtube video-embeds (this may be accomplished by providing your video to blogs that are about the subject you're covering in your video)
  • After that you buy (high retention) Youtube views, if possible from the country you're trying to rank in
  • Follow those views up by buying Youtube likes and dislikes. For every like you buy 10-25% of that in dislikes
  • Last but not least, buy (if possible 'organic' and from the country you're trying to rank in) Youtube subscribers
Try to keep the last part (buying views, et cetera) as natural as possible. Do NOT overflow your brand-new video with loads of views on day one. Keep it organic. This also means you keep buying views per day for quite some time, because it isn't organic if views 'all of a sudden' stop coming in on your videos. Same goes for likes, dislikes and subscribers. Buying comments won't harm either!

Takes a bit of effort, but by doing it like this I've been able to outrank some very solidly ranked video's in highly viewed niches.

For Youtube ranking no unless you get link from an extremely valuable website (web2.0, profile links are not considered)
Backlinks will help you get better rankings over search engines.

I think they have low value in ranking YT search, all you need is to upload 10+ minutes videos, because long videos rank well, and then optimize thumbnail, meta description and tags.

Anything, really. If you can get Youtube Shares - get them! I used to get really good results with http://www.shareyoutubevideos.com/packages/youtube-shares/, but they've been out of stock for years I believe. Other share sellers sell some different kind of shares which didn't bring the same results.

I agree with tubeboost, but if you are intereset in Google's serp as well I had excellent results in Google with manual backlinks (made by myself) - second and first position in 2 high and medium competition Google serps. 20 manual tier 1. By the way I don't want to go to much OT since this thread is for YT.
