Hello,

Just wondering if anyone uses Moz for SEO & analytics, any review?

Thanks

Ed

I had a membership for about six months a couple (maybe a few now?) years ago.

It was right around the time Yahoo discontinued their site explorer tool that everyone was using to collect data and I think that's one of the big reasons SEOMoz's OSE took off so well.

The tools are cool but rather expensive if you're not going to fully take advantage of them. I haven't checked but I assume they still price themselves at $99/mo for the base plan. If you have a defined plan of action and money to spend, I say go for it. Otherwise, get your shit together first and then use Moz when everything is in order so you don't waste money.

I find their free resources like whiteboard friday are invaluable. The user submitted articles can sometimes be a little worthless but the articles written by their core staff are usually on point.

I use MOZ extension for chrome for quick analysis of domains. Shows DA, PA, and total backlinks. Gives a good top level impression of a domain. Helpful for backlinking targets.

Moz is a good tool, but their backlink index is seriously outdated - which also means that their DA/PA numbers must be outdated too.
Which is why I find it ironic when people say "don't look at PR, it's not been updated for 1year, look at PA/DA instead"...

Wonder why then some popular marketing tools use their BL numbers and DA/PA numbers to make up for analysis.
One of my clients use HubSpot and MOZ data is often seen on reports.

I use MOZ. Its really expensive and don't have top notch tools. The only decent tool they have is on-page grader and keyword difficulty checker.
If you wanna see those tools in action. Buy a VCC and enroll into 90days free trial. Google "moz 90 days trial" you will get the code.

From my experience MOZ is a great place to get started with seo as it simplifies all of the latest information.

Thanks for the input y'all

I do find their price high so I was wondering if I there was any good reason to invest in such tool.

I've tested Raven and I liked it.

Thanks

Ed

Moz is awesome. I've had to use my corporate account for work and it's the best. It really gives you what you'd expect, and it doesn't disappoint.
However, that said, if you're using what they have for free then... well... as was said before, you're just looking at backlinks from three years ago. If you need actual backlinks, then it's better to check on ahrefs or moonsearch or something.

Use it everyday - Great tool and also has a lot of good freebies too! Also use SEM RUSH and that has some good tools as well. Well worth the investment !
