Does anyone still work 8-10 hours a day on IM?

I’ve been trying to scale my projects lately, but I find that after 4-5 hours of deep work, my productivity just drops to zero.

For those of you making full-time income here, are you actually grinding 8+ hours a day, or are you just focusing on 3-4 hours of high-quality work? I feel like I'm burning out trying to stay on the PC all day.

I don’t even put a measure to it anymore. I just work until I’m tired, then take a break and get back to it when I’m refreshed

As long as I can still keep going, I’m just going and not really thinking about it

I just finished speaking with my brother on a call like few mins ago and during the call he heard the click of my mouse and asked if I’m working again today (jokingly) : D

I mean, when there’s stuff to do, there’s really nothing like weekends or weekdays in IM.
Monday can be your free day and Sunday can feel totally like a Monday : D

You need to take coffee breaks.
I work for 30-40 minutes with breaks.

Projects are different, some allow little breaks while you have to concentrate for hours for some
So it depends
I could spend 16 hours some times

I dedicate +12 hours a day to my work (unless something unexpected is happening). Some days it's even more, and sometimes it's not enough time because there's always something to do, and I'm the type of dude who prefers to finish late rather than leave work for the next day, it can be turned into months...

It also depends on a person's mindset. If you think like a winner, your goal is to win, and you're passionate about what you do, then time won't be your enemy.

I can almost never switch off.. but I also take many breaks throughout the day. The thing is, is it really work when you love what you do?

are you taking atleast a few 5 minute breaks? 4 - 5 hours sounds good tho.

Is your set up right?
I am talking of the chair, working desk, room lighting.

Also take short breaks

4–5 hours of deep work in one go is already a lot for most people. I’ve found it works much better to split the day into focused blocks (30–60 minutes), with short breaks in between.

Moving around, changing context, even doing something completely offline helps reset your brain before the next block.

Quality > quantity in my experience. Burning out trying to “look busy” for 8 hours is usually counterproductive.
