Recently I've set a goal to post 1 high quality and in depth article on hubpages each and every day. I'm using the adsense program and hope to have success with clickbank and amazon.

Every day I publish an article I notice a slight increase in my earnings but not much. I'm generating around 5 cents a day with only 3 articles so I think after 100 - 300 articles I'll start earning dollars daily.

I heard you need 20k traffic for $100.

I'm just wondering if anybody makes a good passive income off hubpages? Are there any higher paying alternatives?

I use hubpages because they rank well and they recently got a hold of squidoo.

Squidoo had lens as I heard never been on any of these but you need to have good traffic or your articles must be ranking to bank hard.

If your articles start to rank you should make a decent income. I'd be interested to watch your progress, have you thought about starting a journey thread?

In my opinion, if you want a sustainable, reliable income, don't use Adsense. You might get paid out a couple of times, if you're lucky, but it's not worth the amount of work writing hundreds of articles requires. That is, if you do get banned.

If it's just for a nice buck, then I'd say go for it, and all the best!

Yeah I'm just looking for a nice buck.

I learned that right after posting this thread Adsense isn't a good option for hubpages. I decided to go with the hubpages earning program instead. Plus it's CPM instead of CPC so I should easily be able to reach payout with a daily article.

My objective isn't to get a job, it's to get a paying hobby.
I like writing but not enough to become a full time article writer.

Thanks for the replies guys!
Depending on how the next few days go I'll decide whether or not to start a journey thread.

Why not publish the articles on your own site instead? Hub Pages and other article directory sites do not rank as good as they did a few years back anyway, so it's not like it's a lot easier to get search traffic with Hub Pages that it would be with your own website. In fact, it might be harder to get a decent amount of traffic with Hub Pages than it would be with your own site because you can optimize your own site for a specific topic and that's something you cannot do with Hub Pages.

It would be pretty much good if you can create your own blog. Not much investment need for it.

yeah invest some bucks and time on your own blog , post some articles and look up for some SEO and link building services here in BHW , also get some softwares , I really like the long tail pro , you have all the possibilities to rank your site since you are a fluent english speak and right now the only thing valuable on a blog is the content you provide and I am pretty sure you can offer a decent content , so go for your own blog

Agreed with pidhsame, you need to invest your time and bucks on your blogs instead of hubpage or any other directories to generate passive income from adsense and affiliate program.

There have been a lot of writers banned from hubpages without a reason, me included. So be careful. And no, they won't give you an explanation on why it was banned.

Hubpages used to be a good place to make money. I never used them but have an account. I've heard of some people making good passive income, but this was back when content farms were good money. I have not heard of anyone making good money anymore (good money to me from 1 site alone is 4 figures, so maybe if $100 is your style it's possible).

With content farms dying, hubpages is trying to survive just like Demand Media. Content farms are dead, and because so many of them have died the ones barely alive are getting flooded by people who have lost income from other farms.

I think it would be better to host your own site at this point.
