Does anyone here have experience in the vending machine business?

Interested in hearing anyone's story who has been in the vending machine business.

I'd like to lease a candy/drinks machine and place it in the cafetaria of my high school (I'm in the Netherlands) and split part of the profit with my school. Any opinions/tips/tricks on this?

Getting the accounts is the toughest part in that business.

I had some 35 or so vending accounts and used my bottled water drivers to service them back in the day so it was easy for me to make sure they were serviced but getting accounts was work for the sales guys.

I don't know about The Netherlands but we paid between 10 and 15% of the revenue to the sites and sometimes more if there was a lot of volume.

Once you get the account, consistent service is important and keeping your equipment clean is real important.

Pretty simple business if you are fine with repetitive work.
