Does Anybody Use a Market Research Formula?

I have always been slow on doing my market research. I usually do research every time I need to write an article or every time i am about to make significant change to my site that includes actual facts.
Ya know?

The thing is... That is a time killer and is murdering me slowly.

I need a faster more efficient way of researching my market, niche, product(whatever you want to call it).

If you have a method please share.
I'm not a fan or a user of market research tools as expected. I just use google and am quite proficient in its ways.

Please don't include your niches, if you do share.

Break down how you do it now and more of what it is. Your question is a bit vague. You can do market research for comp, profitability, Keywords, and those are just the basics. Maybe share how you are currently doing your research so we have a starting point to improve from.

I would have found my niche, obviously.
Then I would go on google and look into it a bit with my main keyword and other very close surrounding keywords. But with no real idea how to. I don't have a good game plan on how to get really detailed information on my market/ niche.

My goal is to find ideas for adding unique content to my site for good organic google ranking.

I currently start with finding my keywords through google keyword tool. Then write articles and post them to my site as I write them(typically on a daily basis). The information i find though is broad and isn't terrific. So when that fails to create content for me...
I usually just stick with the keyword list google retrieved for me and write an article or so for each keyword and mix those kw's up in my sites pages.

I have no real method to my research right now. It's quite chaotic.

I suppose my real question is: "How do I find quality information that people are looking for that I can write about?"

Use automated tool, end of story. Some have LSI scrapers, Amazon scrapers, Google keyword tool scrapers, etc

I have scrape box. I stopped using it though because it can hurt you more than it can help if you're not really good with it.

AND... I'm not good with it.

It helps for finding high PR sites quickly, but I found that it is just a waste of $30.00 monthly for proxies if you don't use it.

And you can do the same thing in a standard google search.

I usually start with Wikipedia
