Do you work better with music or silence?

There is no doubt about passions; we all need to have them alongside our work.

During my time in the corporate world, I would not have been able to feel loyal to my employer and my staff if my thoughts had been elsewhere. And even today, I cannot feel loyal to myself and my customers if my thoughts are not 100% focused on the task at hand.

That's why I block out these three early morning hours every day without any distractions or digressions. After that, the important work is done and the money is earned. Of course, I still work for the rest of the day, but then I focus on tasks that don't require perfection.

Nice idea with a candle burning. Does it calm you down or even inspire you at work?
The act of walking in the office to my standing desk and lighting the candle is like a positive affirmation that puts my mind in work mode. I also like the scent of it. The scent helps to reinforce work time.

When I feel like I’m lost or overwhelmed I stare at the flame for periods of time and it helps me be creative. Concentration (Samatha) is an ancient technique of developing certain mental faculties. They use a mandala sometimes. A flame is a popular mandala since the beginning.

Depends on the mood, if I'm feeling irritable but still have to work: I prefer silence. But if I'm all pumped up, I gotta pump up the jam as well!

I’m the same. I usually keep a podcast or some light instrumental in the background. It keeps things moving without distracting me, and I feel more alert while grinding through tasks.

Everyone focuses differently. Some people like quiet, some enjoy soft music or white noise, and others go for something like lo-fi beats or nature sounds to stay in the zone. A few even work best with no audio at all and prefer things like using a timer or blocking distractions. It really depends on what helps your mind stay calm and focused without pulling you away from work.

Hi, Everyone has their own way of getting into “focus mode,” and I’m curious to hear the other choice.

Personally, I like having something light in the background usually podcast episodes, news-style discussions, or storytelling content. It keeps my brain engaged without pulling my focus away from the work, and it also helps me stay awake and avoid that tired, sleepy feeling while working.
I have mix of modes, when i feel relex duration work, then i hear the podcasts or songs, and if i needed to pay full attention on work, then pin drop silience.

I have a problem, I'm very sleepy at work. i donot know why, but if you can help me for solution, i will be thank ful.

Get a standing desk and stand with your back straight while working

Same here. I can’t work in silence, my brain starts buffering. I need some light background noise, podcasts, random discussions, even two strangers arguing about nothing. It keeps me awake without stealing my focus. Basically, I run on “soft chaos mode.”

For me, a swing jazz in low volume, just enough to cover the background noise, and I can create content for hours.

If i know the steps, what i have to do than music is my part of life before that i need silence to know what exactly i have to do and how can i do in a easy way as per my ways.

It depends on the task. If I need to get something done quickly and it doesn’t require much focus, I have a special playlist with fast, energetic music like funk. But if the task requires concentration, I put on something pleasant, like Chopin, in my headphones, so I’m not distracted by surrounding noises, but the music doesn’t get in the way either.

Sounds of xxxporn in the background usually gets me energized and working at optimum speed!

Are you working alone? You should probably have a separate workspace for that kind of “productivity boost.”
Otherwise your work mood might get… too energized.

Most people love working in silence, but it depends on the type of task—whether it needs full focus or is a simple daily routine. For me, I prefer working with some background sound on my phone, like a podcast or a story. some time Quran for a positive energy

:)

Yeah, I also like to play the Quran sometimes especially when I’m stressed or need to calm my mind.
It gives a really positive vibe and helps me reset before getting back into “focus mode.”

I’m similar! Most of the time I work with podcasts, news, or any interesting storytelling audio in the background.
But when I’m handling something important, I switch myself into “incognito focus mode” no sound, no distractions, just pure concentration.

I usually work while listening to music. It makes me focus on the tasks. My favorite kind of music is Lofi or R&B

if you need laser focus, music doesent help, but if you do some repetitive shit, that is where music kicks in and helps alot

Yep, you definitely have a point. Routine, boring work really does need music it keeps you awake, helps you stay focused, and reduces stress. But when you need to work seriously, a quiet environment becomes essential.
