Do you take supplements?

Vitamine C, D, B12, Magnesium, Zinc, Omega 3, Probiotics, and Spirulina

What is the recommended amount of protein per day?

Vitamin D helped me a lot, I didnt knew why I slept so much and been tired all the time while I was only sitting at PC. (Make sense since you get it from sunshine)

After blood test they found out I have low vitamin D level. So I take it for 3rd month now and I sleep 8 hours daily like a normal person again :)

I respectfully hear you.

I respectfully respect you.

I consider the recommended as being below the actual amount one can take.

Generally speaking I just stick to the instructions on the box as to how much I should take.

But like with Vitamin C - since you can't overdose on it technically speaking - if I was sick or something I would take more than usual. But not in one take, but throughout the day in order to keep the levels of Vitamin C in my blood high. Supposed to be real good, cures cancer and stuff :p

What kind of blood test is that? What kind of doctor does a vitamin blood test?

Regular doctor, I came to him and told I am always tired and sleep so much so he took my blood and next day they called me that i have low vitamin D level

Its in nanogram/ml of blood Normal is 30-50 and Ive got only 17.

I'm gonna start taking supplements regularly again. This is what I have for now.

Vitamin D - because I don't get out much, and I don't live in a sunny place

Spirulina - has lots of protein, and I need to gain weight. It also has a lot of other good stuff

Vitamin C - plenty of reasons. I'm a smoker. I think Vit C is great for a whole host of reasons

Probiots - gut flora, good bacteria, i think its good

Fish oil - frankly, I don't remember. But I have some from the last time I took supplement, and I must've had a good reason to include it haha

And everything I take is oroganic, vegan-approved, no gmo, no gluten, no starch, no sugar, bla bla bla. It's the good expensive stuff, not the cheap crap.

Do you guys take supplements? Which ones? Why?
Those are rookie supplements, you gotta pump those supplements up ))

But all jokes aside, those are good for your health.

However, if you want to pump your cognitive functions, you need something else entirely.

Add choline, phosphatidylserine, sodium(push for 5-6g/day, there's studies showing that range lowers strokes even more than 2g/day), potassium to counter balance the sodium(you can't use pills as the dosage is limited, you will need potassium chloride in the form of salt at least 3,000mg/day in water, magnesium(citrate, in water along with sodium and potassium), alpha-gpc(2-3 times/week, not all the time), 5g/day of creatine(up your water intake with this but not a lot), and anthocyanins(don't go over 600mg o dose on this, or eat a lot of blueberries).

I'm not going to go into details on each of them because it's wise and best to do your own research regarding this.
Regarding fish oil, while cod liver oil is great, you need to look for something more isolated that packs a bigger punch.

For the effects of EPA and DHA to really become noticeable, you need around 3,000mg of EPA per day. You will find that number hard to get without overdosing on vitamin A and D from fish oil.

And of course, you need some B vitamins, B1 to be more specific, but B6 as well.

All these put together will improve your cognitive capabilities in such a way, you'll think you're the dude from that movie Limitless.

I'm talking about visible effects within 48 hours, not months.

IF you're not going to take all these, at least make the effort of looking it up why I even recommend these, who else does, and what they do to you. You'll learn a valuable lesson. Especially true for sodium intake.

As a spoiler, next time you wake up tomorrow, add some salt to your first glass of water. You'll feed great.

I didn't - but the recent health scares set me straight and now as the medications subsided my doctor has me on them.

Also, I am a vegetarian (milk products only - no fish, meat or eggs) - so I need to complement my diet.

I do fish oil, Vit C/D, Choline and a bunch of other stuff that's maxed in one pill (that I am supposed to take 2 a day).

Also, Hi @Scorpion Ghost - looking good in the light blue.

Anyone been taking supplements for 5+ years? Any significant changes or side effects? Do you ever get the feeling the nutrients are not getting absorbed properly or do you feel the supplements had any impact on your immunity whatsoever?

I don't like taking supplements, instead I eat healthy and do sports

DID YOU KNOW that no matter how many nutrients or nutritional supplements we take in,
they are of limited use if we cannot digest and assimilate them?

RSMs are manufactured inside our cells (within the mitochondria) and are responsible for cellular maintenance (by reducing oxidation)
and also oversee the vital communication of our immune system. RSMs keep our bodies free from bacteria, viruses, and toxins
and also organize the process of repair, replacement, and/or destruction of dangerous or damaged cells.

So if our mitochondria already make these molecules, why would the Huffington Post (RSM) name Redox Signaling Molecules as one of the
five emerging technologies that will have an impact on our health? They would do that because your body begins to make less of these
vital molecules as you are exposed to toxins, mental and physical stresses, and health challenges. In fact,
even if you lived in a perfectly pristine, stress-free world, the simple act of aging past 20 decreases your body’s ability
to make these molecules by approximately 10% every decade and these molecules have EVERYTHING to do with the health of your cells.
The question is if your cells were as healthy as they were when you were younger, would you be healthier?
We are accustomed to thinking about the health of our various organs – our heart, our lungs, our kidneys, etc. – when perhaps
the question should be deeper than that. Perhaps the question should be if your cells were healthier,
would your various organs be healthier?

No, eat normal food with meat, fish, veggies and fruit, no need for any supplements if your not into and badass sports on elite level.
Yepp.. Plus it's debatable whether or not synthetic vitamins (and other stuffs like iron and calcium) actually get absorbed by our body. Sticking to a good diet helps. Atleast that's what the doctor who checks my son said. He is the best child specialist in the city, so I guess he knows what he is talking about.
I take fish oil @Willyfish
I eat Fish @Willyfish

creatine, C, D, iron, cocaine.

Your best supplement would be smoking less, call me cliché and naive, but your body agrees with me already. Gluten-free/vegan products aren't necessarily better. For instance, you're cutting off gluten to replace it with another protein? Why is that? If you don't have a gluten intolerance and health issues, don't try to avoid stuff.

Paying more isn't necessarily going to get you more. I'm not shitting on you king. I was in the same shoes.

A balanced diet is all you need. Up the fruit, cut the processed sugars and seed oils. Exercise. Fish oils are good, vitamin D if you're feeling tired. Nothing else is necessary.
