Do you mine?

Is there any risk in mining? Seems to me like u need only to buy a farm, isn't it?

In business, there are always risks. Add the fact we're talking about crypto and there is even more risk. So a better question would be, what are the risks? :)

For mining
  1. not making enough money to offset your operating costs (mostly your power bills)
  2. coin your mining goes to shit and is worthless
  3. getting hacked
Google 'mining calculator' and there are bunch that will help you estimate the costs. Article on lifewire dot com / cryptocoin-mining-for-beginners-2483064 talks about the process.

Really boils down to if you are able to have a "farm" and the cost of electricity is lower than what the results would be from mining. Find a mining calculator and you can do well with it. One tip is to find a coin that no one is talking about (yet) and start mining it before it reaches mainstream. This is where the money is at.

I don't mine. I only use crypto currency (especially bitcoin) to get easy and fast payments world wide.

Ideal dream setup, move to Iceland. Check out the huge uGenisis mining farm in Iceland where 100% of their energy comes from renewable hydroelectric and geothermal sources.

Entering mining could be profitable especially if you have a long term outlook but the best think you can do for yourself is research Blockchain tech and use critical thinking to think about how it is going to be the biggest revolution that any modern person has ever seen. Look at the reason why Bitcoin was created.

I've been accumulating a lot of Bitcoin, Zcash, Aelf and other cryptos because I think the next 5 years are going to get REALLY fun. Also if you've been waiting to get in because you want it to crash before you buy in then you will be pretty disappointed, the market is already down over 85% from the high. There hasn't been a better time to start getting into cryptocurrencies/blockchain for over a year.

Don't think it's worth it anymore. Except you are going for a shitcoin.

any possible ways to get free Cryptocurrencies?

I used to mine but it's not profitable anymore since the price drop of cryptocurrencies.

Question now not in coin price. Just look at the video that up in this thread. Such farms are mining killers, and casual user even cant struggle with their effectiveness. Lack of resources.

Agree.
I found that mining isn't profitable in comparison with trading crypto.

I mined for a few months. You have to really understand how to get the most out of your hardware. I burned out one of my video cards long before it would have paid for itself.

I only made $300.00. Subtract from that the cost of two video cards and the new motherboard I had to get just to be able to use those cards = not worth it.

I am trying to do everything. A couple of years ago I was mining but now I do not find that this activity brings the best profits. I participate in Bounties, trade and hold the cryptocurrencies.
