Most times I don't. The content itself and the way your link is placed is enough to make the article feel natural.

1. Maximizing Link Equity: The sole purpose of a guest post, from my perspective, is to secure one high-value, editorially placed link back to my target site. Every other outbound link on that page, even to an authority site, has the potential to slightly dilute the link equity passed from that page. When you're working hard for that single link, the goal is to maximize its value.
2. Editorial Control: I prefer to provide the cleanest possible article to the site owner, with the focus being entirely on the quality of the content and the value it provides to their readers. Site editors will often add their own outbound authority links and internal links anyway. By submitting it without any, I leave that control in their hands and avoid having my post look over-optimized if they decide to add more links themselves.
